Great result for Brentford today. Might help things along this week.
-
Having seen how well they used the ball last week against Everton, I couldn't help but wonder how he would get into the team. Ampadu is out today and they still haven't brought him in. Hopefully he eventually finds a role, but it might be more difficult than anticipated.

Noticed Damsgaard and Schade came back in today along with Ouattara getting a first start. Was expecting a better performance today from them, especially being at home too. Hope they get a good result. I have a feeling it will improve our chances of tying up the Wissa deal next week if so.

Julien Laurens mentioned that we also had Conrad Harder on our list. Sporting versatile forward and Osula's teammate in the Denmark under 21s team.

Still needs some seasoning and not sure he'll ever be quite good enough to play in a side that takes the kind of risks at the back that Man City do. Can't see things ending up well for him under Pep. The melt down on here after Man City signed him really wasn't justified.

I logged in earlier and saw multiple people talking about how slow he was and I just logged off It had fast become a matter of fact on NO. Regarding the £30 million price. It's apparently because he wants to play more and Atletico have agreed to let him leave provided they get their money back. His output at Villarreal and Atletico the last couple of seasons has been impressive. He's been exceeding his expected goals at a ridiculous rate. Newcastle have been linked since back in May I think but he's only just been made available due to his wishes and so maybe your wish comes true. As he's been finishing so well of late, he'd be a good option to bring in with Jackson who needs some improvement in that area, but provides all the other intangibles in general play, if we end up having to get two in.

These West Ham players aren't good enough to play any kind of football that isn't more simple and straightforward. Such a horrible idea bringing Potter in and not making more of an effort to rebuild the team and the midfield especially.
-
West Ham are disgracefully bad.

What a goal. Sanchez a bit dodgy though

It's not just about output, although that is important as it shows they can perform in the league. I'd much rather have two good Premier League strikers that are now going to be playing in a better team than they were before, and so could actually perform even better, and each of whom bring different things to the table. Can make a selection on who starts based on different tactical plans and approaches to certain games, depending on the opposition, and can also pair them together in certain instances.

I think there's a good chance it plays out that way. Assuming these deals happen the team is going to look a lot more balanced and versatile, and the depth is going to be much improved too.

I like that new Wolves manager. I think regardless of what happens they'll be alright. Even this last weekend that final score flattered Man City I thought. Wolves caused them problems but just didn't take their chances.
-
I want to see this end up like when Mbappe left PSG for Real Madrid. And this last season without him they ended up with a more balanced team and approach with everyone pulling their weight, and they now look much better for it.

Yeah, I think if we get both Isak is going.

Seems to me the goal is to consolidate as strong a position in the Premier League as possible. I think we are going to go about this by pushing for both Strand Larsen and Wissa. Both were very capable premier League performers last year, and are suited to how we play. In a better team for both, they should look even more of a threat. Based off of last season: Isak - 34 games, 23 goals, 6 assists Wilson - 18 games, 0 goals, 0 assists Wissa - 35 games, 19 goals, 4assists Strand Larsen - 35 games, 14 goals, 4 assists *Penalties - Isak=4, Strand Larsen=0, Wissa=0. Think the signings will get downplayed by both Newcastle fans and otherwise, but once the season gets rolling and the production starts coming in, all that noise will fade away very quickly.
-
I think they're may be something in it, as they never really shut it down outright. And then yesterday there was talk that Strand Larsen was up for it but wouldn't agitate for the move etc. Also seen Wolver have been linked to Sorloth and see him as a ready made replacement, especially now he's fallen out with Simeone and is available for a decent fee.
-
Yeah, that bit was interesting. Mentioned that they're ready to have Isak sit in the stands all season and all, if the price for him isn't met and he wants to sulk about it.
-
Some interesting bits on the latest situation regarding strikers. Starts at the Newcastle part.
-
Isak out. Wissa and Strand Larsen in.

Yeah, that's what's quite surprising about this whole thing. Spurs are in the Champions League and can offer as much money but neither player seemingly wanted to link back up with Frank. Even with Spurs being in the supposedly impossible to turn down London area, and it meaning they wouldn't have to move. It seems both Mbeumo and Wissa have some kind of affinity for both Man Utd and Newcastle respectively.
