  1. This has been the point all summer. Put the fucking money up. These scoundrels are trying to buy "the best striker in the world" at a bargain. Fuck right off.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

This guy isn't really a Simeone player man. Never understood it really. I imagine a Diego Costa as a prototypical Simeone striker. Maybe Liverpool will go for him, as they were considering him as well at some point.
  3. We have to figure out a way to make it work. We can't go into the season with one striker and waiting on Isak. That would be such a mess man. It's a Champions League season and there are too many games to play. Any kind of knock or injury to the one striker and we're looking stupid if this clown Isak is still all over the place. Sign one striker that we have the money for and find another with something about them that we can loan. For the loan, try and maybe do a deal with one of the Saudi clubs with PIF ties if there's no one realistic or decent enough option in Europe. Just as an example that young Brazilian striker we were linked with when he was in Brazil, Marcos Leonardo, is at Al-Hilal and has done very well there, he looked really good in the club world cup and scored a double against Man City, he was very highly rated in Brazil when he was younger and we were supposedly looking at him. He gets paid around £90,000 a week in Saudi, which is not an impossible wage to cover as a realistic loan. Figure something out and position the club to where we are not dependent on this muppet in any kind of way. It puts more pressure then on both Isak and Liverpool.
  4. We'd better get in enough options upfront to not have to be waiting around for this guy to get his stupid head right, never mind the fact he's had no pre season. That will send the strongest message of all and really put him in his place.
  5. Perfect. Now get out there and figure out how to get two strikers in and don't fucking re-integrate this punk. Let him sit till next summer. And then we can ship him out then.
  6. Whatever budget is remaining the club has to figure out a way to get two strikers they like and whatever else it is they need, even if it means we have to be creative and figure out a loan with an obligation next year for one of these players, and just leave this man to sit at home the whole season and fine him for every game he misses, unless Liverpool pay through the nose something crazy before the window closes. Simple as that. The unmitigated gall of this fellow. Outrageous stuff.

Whose said it would be tricky? I think I missed that bit. I'd imagine that would be down to how late it is in the window and them trying to negotiate a fee, with Porto then having to figure out a replacement too.

Porto bought up all rights to Samu and so own him fully now.

    Yoane Wissa

Had 9 goals and 4 assists last year in that disgusting Leicester side, which is not shabby at all.

Thinking about it Vardy would have been a good shout for Brentford I think.

It's very intriguing. He's only just turned 25 this year which surprised me. Definitely room for Howe to get more out of him and back to his previous levels at Fiorentina.

    Nicolas Jackson

Could see Jackson being a big hit at Napoli. Think Conte would love him.
  15. James Garner is Everton's only hope of playing out from the back through midfield and Moyes has gone and stuck him at left back in Mykolenko's absence. Tragic stuff.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Time is really ticking now. I don't think it's a terrible shout if other options fall away. If things don't work out he'd also be a prime Saudi flip candidate, as a number of his international team mates have gone over there, so he'll probably be open to it.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Vlahovic freaked me out last year at the Euros as he got pushed around and bullied at times, but I do wonder if I was being too harsh. They are apparently after just £25 million for him and he is willing to half his gargantuan wages which would still have him at around £170,000 a week. He's only just turned 25 this year and his goal scoring record is still really good despite being just okay since he joined Juventus. I think at Fiorentina they played a more direct high tempo style if I'm not mistaken and that's when he was really looking at his best. Maybe the Italian fella on here can give his insight on what he thinks and how he might fit at Newcastle? Any thoughts @Curva Sud Milano?

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Leipzig Nkunku was absolutely tremendous and that style they play was more akin to how Newcastle play currently, and so it could be very tasty. The injuries are terrifying though, although he seemed to come through without issues last season, and I guess Bunce's impact last year gives some hope too if we're being really optimistic. As one of two strikers to rotate with perhaps that also helps keep him fitter and stronger. The nice thing about Nkunku is that he'd be more in the style of a Joao Pedro or Ekitike that we looked at earlier in the window, and that gives a bit more of a different dimension to our play. Think this move would be an alternative option instead of Wissa and so that would suck for him, but it seems Brentford are going to stick to their guns as is their right. Very intrigued by this one despite the risk involved. I think provided he's one of two strikers at the club, the wages are well within the wage structure, the fee is no more than £40 million at the very most, and the medical is carried out for at least 10 hours, I think I'm in. Loved him at Leipzig and imagining some version of that at Newcastle is incredibly tempting.

Any ball into Hojlund's feet with his back to the defender is an instant turnover 99% of the time. We had a similar issue with Chris Wood when he was here, and it wasn't even as bad with Wood. I think these strikers are best served with someone playing off of them as a second striker or as a number 10, in order to limit any hold up or link up play. Wood had this at Burnley with Ashley Barnes and now with Gibbs-White at Forest. When he was at Newcastle he didn't have that luxury due to the way we are setup in a 4-3-3 and he suffered for it. Hojlund would be a disaster mainly because of this IMO. He's just not the right fit.
  20. Yes, because no one was willing to meet the release clause figure.
