Was just about to say this! Could absolutely see Joelinton being more of a situational player and I don't think that would be a bad thing at all. Would allow him to conserve more energy and pick up less injuries and he can be fully unleashed in the games we need more tenacity in the middle of the park to disrupt the opposition.

Yeah, having two high level rotation options for Joelinton and Bruno is absolutely vital going forward. We can't be running those two into the ground especially with all of the European games now on the schedule. It's just not going to allow us to get the best of them over the season. Would be very happy with this if true.

I get it man, but I just don't think we're going to see it happen. And it's hard to argue with the man considering how much success he's had with his approach. I think Howe's thinking is to further improve his way of playing and get in more options to rotate into the team so we can maintain a higher intensity and level of performance over the season.

Yeah, mainly signals that Willock is pretty much done, and is no longer seen as a reliable contributor. Ramsey pretty much takes Willock's spot as an option in the LCM position and Frattesi looks like he mostly plays in the RCM position and so likely rotates with Bruno if he comes in. Would be very good midfield depth if true.

You still don't seem to understand the manager's philosophy and keep wanting him to bring in players that he doesn't prioritise. It's like complaining about Pep not playing with more directness and urgency and not signing more box to box ball carrying midfielders. You're really going to have to get over it at some point.

I find it incredible how history is being rewritten now and people are making out Murphy's delivery and finishing is always consistent and on point. It's just unbelievable.

The situation is ideal really. Takes a ton of pressure off Botman coming back from the injuries and also takes pressure off Thiaw needing to come straight in and excel in the first team. Those two can just be gradually introduced at the right moments when Burn or Schar need a rest, and in some of the weaker cup games. Think we're in great shape with the 4 centre back options.
