Seems to have his heart set on Bayern. Think he'll try his utmost to get a move there.
-
Yeah, absolutely. All they have to do now is show that they are ready and able to pivot. If so, we'll be good to go.
-
Wouldn't be surprised if Man City are after both. Will be up to Trafford to decide if he wants to be second fiddle long term over there. He apparently has desires on being England's number 1, and so that won't be great for him.

Such a good shout. He would absolutely be a prime candidate to go over to Saudi and this really is something we need to start factoring in more. If he joins and performs at a similar level as he has at Brentford, and gets more visibility, especially with us being in the Champions League, we'd likely be able to get decent money for him from Saudi still once he hits age 32 or so.

Hopefully the first part of this window has been an eye opener for Howe. Going through this may not be the worst thing long term, if it allows him to see that some adjustments need to be made to our approach. And those adjustments will need to be made over the next few weeks, because if we end up not getting players in because we kept on with the same strategy, that would be so impossibly negligent and incompetent, I genuinely cannot even envision it to be honest.

Better scouting and recruitment from other markets allows for lower transfer fees and wages. Steve Nickson is very experienced and has shown that he has a good knowledge of players across Europe and even South America. If we are not able to pay transfer fees and match wages for priority targets due to the competition, we have to lean on Nickson and his team. If come the end of the window we have failed to do this and end up short, then the club will deserve all the flak that comes their way. It will also be a terrible look for Howe in particular, and he will have invited a lot of pressure on himself. All this complaining about the cartel clubs isn't going to be acceptable for me. The club is attractive enough to get players good enough to compete, if we widen our scope for player recruitment. Let's see if they make that pivot as the next step now.

Yeah, think I'd lean this way too. I really like the idea of another top central midfielder that improves our possession and build up play. And I've always really liked Joelinton on the left, especially with a left back that is an attacking threat, like Hall is.
-
Hypothetically, if Gordon did go there would you ... a) Have Joelinton and Barnes as left side options and bring in another top midfielder like Ederson at Atalanta or Conor Gallagher, for the first 11. b) Or just get in another left winger for the first 11, and keep big Joe central.

If you downloaded the DAZN app for the club world cup, looks like Belgian football is also free to watch on the DAZN app without a paid subscription. Belgian super cup is on at the minute between Union and Brugge.

Must have been reading the forum with that last bit

Yeah, looks like McAtee and Bobb won't be around next season. I guess Foden and Stones could be added to the list though.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)
KaKa replied to Miggys First Goal's topic in Football
Yeah, it will be indeed. We were excited about the signing because of the idea of him linking up with Isak, and playing off him in a more free role. Instead he's the main signing upfront at Liverpool. Going to be watching closely to see how he handles that. I'm not sure he will handle it well. -
Apparently Man city are struggling for home grown players? Heard a Man City fan mention this. Probably why they are going down this route with Trafford.
-
Is that a decent source?! This could lead to the most monumental meltdown in footballing history amongst Arsenal fans. Surely, it's a ruse to get Arsenal to fix up and tie their deal up with him?!
-
Ideally it would be shared, but the wingers they have don't seem to be up to it so far to the level they need. Unless Cherki and to some degree Reijnders really come in and are outstanding, I'm not sure who is going to open teams up for them. As far as stopping the counter attacks goes, it was an issue all of last season and they never figured it out. Even recently in the club world cup they were still struggling. Al Hilal knocked them out by continuing to exploit them the same way. I guess Rodri coming back should help, but it's not good that they are so reliant on him in that regard. Pep as great as he is, also seems to be incredibly one dimensional in his approach. Never really seemed to figure out a different way of doing things to help solve the problems they were having, particularly defensively.

Isak stayed home because he's been freaked out by how desperate and thirsty Liverpool fans have been acting over all the speculation, and didn't want to risk running into one of you creeps out in public, until after you had blown your money on Ekitike and calmed down a bit. He was also disgusted at the fact your dumb club only valued him at £30 million more than you did that French twat, and so he will under no circumstances entertain any offer from them. He will enjoy his next season at Newcastle and if no longer than that, we will GLADLY send him abroad for less money if need be, to a club much bigger and better than yours.
