Swap him for Shola anyday like....
I'd throw in Smith and Viduka too ...
-
Never coming here. just looking for some attention from bigger clubs.
What's with the inferiority complex round here?
Keegan said he was going for big players right? He said there was no reason why big players wouldn't want to come here right?
Come on now! Stop this stuff. It's not like we are talking about signing Eto'o here.
I'm sure if we wanted Pandev we could get him.
-
To be fair to the lad, I've never heard of him.
Don't you start with this.
-
The rest of the interview (from the uncut version) according to a Macedonian:
Although Newcastle is in crises, its a big club. With Keegans arrival turnaround is expected. There is another thing. Martins plays for them. We were together with the Nigerian in the youth team in Inter.
So he played with Martins in the inter youth team. Cool. Hopefully they get along and it should help him settle.
Considering this news broke just before Lazio paid a pretty big sum for Bianchi, it might be a legit deal. Especially as Lazio don't have much money apparently. Maybe our bid funded the Bianchi deal.
Is Pandev 39 too?
Well, judging by that hairline he's working with he may very well be ...

I think Bruce has just signed him for Wigan hasn't he?
Palacios went to Wigan from Birmingham. He's a midfielder, not a striker.

Don't know if this has been posted but any road here it is.

Kevin Keegan is interested in taking Dean Ashton to Newcastle from West Ham.
Keegan is a big admirer of the 24-year-old striker and sees him as the perfect foil for Michael Owen.
The new Newcastle boss is ready to test the Hammers with a £7million bid, particularly as Mark Viduka has so far been unable to make a substantial impact at St James' Park.
Keegan is also desperate to add John Arne Riise to his squad and will lodge an opening £6.5m bid.

Riise has been a central figure at Anfield since his £4.6m move from Monaco in 2001, making over 300 appearances.
King Kev has money to spend and his third Premier League target in the transfer window is Chelsea's Wayne Bridge.
That is in addition to trying to pull off the transfer coup of the season by capturing David Beckham, possibly on loan, from LA Galaxy.
Mirror Sport understands there has not yet been a bid for Ashton and that West Ham will fight any attempt to prise the striker - a key part of boss Alan Curbishley's plans - away from Upton Park.
Meanwhile, Keegan has told Harry Redknapp to drop his interest in Shola Ameobi. The Portsmouth boss is ready to launch a £3m bid for the striker, who was frozen out by former Toon boss Sam Allardyce.
Whats this gotta do with Pandev mate?
Quit goofing around.

Hmmm ...
I wonder who Man City have up their sleeve now they've let Bianchi go.
Probably Kanoute rather than Fabiano to be honest.
-
Wow ... Fabiano for £7 million? That seems an alright price, but will he score goals in the premier league? I'm not so sure.
However, with Elano already there they might have some chemistry right off the bat. Not a bad move I don't think.
-
Apperntly Citys Bianchi is right now at Lazios training ground and is going to have his medical in an hour or so. They might have to sell Pandev to finance the Bianchi.
I heard that too.
We can't be going into the rest of the season with Mpenza/Samaras/Vassell....Sven must have someone lined up.....I f****** hope so anyway.....I wonder if we've had a word about Pandev. :parky:
You don't need any more behind the striker strikers striking for your team, and you've already got a 'cool left leg' hanging off Petrov. So clear off.
Besides ... I hear Baros and Cisse are available and they would look particularly fetching in that sky blue
-
IS HE A midfielder or a striker?
Read the rest of the thread pal!
:parky:

Hmmmmm ...
Well if we do sign him then at least Keegan would have looked at how he fared against England, and so will have some sense of how he would do in the premiership.
Just from reading a bit about him, it seems he is a skilful player that plays just behind the front man. The kind of player a lot of people on here have wanted for a while.
Let's see what happens.
-
Rather have Richards, cracking CB and RB...
Dude his agent is just leaking our name to get him a better contract.
Signing Richard is how do you say ... pie in the skyish.

FansFc counts as a "link"?
In these desperate times, yes.

'Woodgate is currently recovering from a shin injury...'
I must be the only one worried about overpaying for players due to our loaded owner and new manager btw.
Mort is a sensible guy and he handles all the transfer dealings. I don't think we'll become the next Chelsea or anything.
I really hope we don't anyway. That would be quite dissapointing.
-
Wheater has been really good for them and Huth is back to full fitness so I guess something's got to give.
I imgaine one of Huth or Woodgate might be available.
also they need to fund the deal for alves because the downing deal is not as likely as earlier thought
Yup. They're struggling to raise funds for their targets, so we migth take advantage.

people should look at exactly where these superb "african" players have really learned their trade.
I don't understand where you are going with this?
You think when they got to "where they learnt their trade" they had never seen a ball before?
Get real.

Arsenal's defence looked worse than our back four last night.
Justin Hoyte will do that to you ...
-
loan would be ideal IMO, with say the 8mil guaranteed at end if suits both parties.
Would be a bit of grit, determination and brazilian skill rolled into one!
IMO though it would be between him and Ashton, and I believe Ashton is good but injury prone, while if KK installed the confidence in the beast, he could be awesome!
Julio is faster and more athletic too, so yeah, I would roll with Bap over Ashton too. Owen is already pretty slow and unathletic at this stage of his career. He needs some va va voom up there with him.
-
Africa has some fantastic footballers tbh. Sissoko, Etuhu, Geremi....
I know ... not as good as England's Phil Neville, Alan Smith and Michael Dawson though.
-
Spurs ITKs and their bollocks claims that everyone in the world wants to sign for them, and the only reason they don't is because someone else gave them a billion more in hard cash. Therefore these players are really mercenaries and they never really wanted them anyway.
-
Africans good strikers?
tbh I'm struggling to agree with that.
Africa produces athletes, not football players (ATM!)
You sir are quite the ignoramus.
I can see where your trying to go, but don't go there!
Africa has some very gifted technical players.
Kanu? Okocha? Eto'o? Kanoute? Yaya Toure? Drogba? ADebayor? Kolo Toure?
Not to mention the majority of the French squad!!!
Get out of town pal!
-
It's how the game ought to be played.
Good, hard tackling, but without being malicous.
