At least Bruno has finally gone into the middle. Hopefully we can actually string together some play through midfield now.

The midfield is a disaster. They can't keep control of a match. Even when the get it they just pass it wide and stand there looking at the wingers.

What a game Woltemade has had. That is just ridiculous.

I think it's way too easy to have a go at the wingers in this team. I think the midfield gets away with murder. They have been so pitiful finding space to get on the ball and initiate any kind of build up play it's embarrassing. Meanwhile Xhaka and Sadiki are controlling things for Sunderland. Both our wingers are doing so much defensively, and then are just constantly given the ball in deep areas to have to make something happen going forward from there too. Talbi and Traore for Sunderland on the other hand can get higher up the pitch and allow the team to work the ball forward to them in more dangerous wide positions where they have more room to operate. I think it's incredible how ineffective the midfield has been using the ball and initiating play from front to back. Bruno was moved back into the middle a few games back to try and improve things, but it looks like Tonali is now back in that position again, and it's not working.

This team loves giving the ball away man. Schar straight away joining the party.

Shockingly enough Elanga has been involved in the few good things we've done going forward. Gordon, Woltemade, Bruno, Tonali, Miley ... all either anonymous or poor so far. Wonder what people are watching.

Reading in the match thread from people that are at the games, it sounds like it's the same there as well. One thing I know for certain, is that I will never again have an issue with a player that makes a fuss about wanting to go elsewhere once things are going well for them and there's interest. A lot of fans aren't very loyal or supportive at all, when a player is struggling, but will demand it from the players when it suits them. It's farcical.

You just have to read back through the thread and match threads. There's a good few that can't wait to tell us all how they knew he was always shit and how he should be sold asap. Yes, we know he struggles with consistency and the mental side of the game. The goal will continue to be to get him stronger in those areas as he matures, because when he's on he can be a terror both going forward and defensively.
