    NUFC Transfer Rumours

His backup at the under 21s is having a bit of a break out season at Genoa this year. Norton Cuffy is the name. Came through at Arsenal originally. Powerful, athletic ball carrier and really good going forward. Haven't seen enough of him defensively, but plenty to work with as far as potential goes.

    Anthony Elanga

Ah, yes. You're right That was good too. Actually liked how quickly Elanga played it into Woltemade in the first place and anticipated that he'd be able to then get the return ball n behind with his run. Really good play for that as well.

Frustrated me no end this season how often Trippier was passing up opportunities to play him in behind into space like that. It's such an easy out ball and really allows him to showcase his best attributes. Loved that Tino played that ball, which wasn't even that precise, but as you said, his speed makes it a dangerous situation for the opposition that they failed to deal with due to their panic after he made up so much ground to reach it.

    Joelinton

Having Hall take up so much more attacking responsibility definitely makes his life easier. Burn at left back was not good for him at all.
  5. Yeah, Marmadashvili looked great in Spain too. Judging how all these goalkeepers will translate to dealing with the way set pieces are delivered in the Premier League must be a nightmare. Good luck to whoever has to make that call on these goalies from abroad.

    Malick Thiaw

Definitely get the impression no manager really stuck with him and gave him that kind of assurance and confidence. Think he's benefitted massively from the sort of environment Howe has cultivated at the club, and the belief he has shown in Thiaw.
  7. Well we were looking at Trafford, and so I can't see that happening, as far as going even bigger is concerned. Can't even begin to imagine who that would be really. Even that Marmadashvili that everyone was so sure would be great, has not looked that impressive for Liverpool at all.
  8. I was at a lot of Arsenal games the year he came in and they first challenged. I don't think people realise how highly thought of he was at Arsenal. There was actually some annoyance at Arteta when he brought in Raya to replace him.
  9. Everything slows down and is calmer when he gets on the ball. Pretty outrageous that he is able to have that kind of effect on the team at his age. As a few others have mentioned already, it's good he did not go out on loan, because he is good enough right now to contribute, and being in the first team and getting these opportunities is going to pay off big time in the future.
  10. Good to see people coming round to how much better he is than he was originally perceived by so many. Seems to have become a figure of ridicule, and written off due to that pigeon clip, but he's better than a number of goalies playing at the so called big clubs.

Just a matter of time with this guy. Saw some really encouraging glimpses of some chemistry between him and Tino. Think he'll benefit massively from Tino being back on that side for him to interchange with. He enjoyed a good partnership with another athletic strong full back that carried the ball well in Ola Aina at Forest, and so I think it will serve him well here also. Did well to run the ball down and unsettle the Everton players on the goal, and had good awareness to play it to Woltemade straight away as he was in lots of space. Was great to see Tino play that ball in behind and ahead of him to run onto in the first place too. Really liked the surging run ahead of Woltemade to get in behind early on as well, which resulted in the corner the first goal came from. Much more to come from him.

    Nick Woltemade

    Yeah, that pass was ridiculous.

    Nick Woltemade

Amongst everything else he has brought to the side, I really appreciate how sturdy he's been. Fingers crossed it continues, because it looks like he's one that is good physically and holds up really well in that regard. Again today we saw more runs in behind, and he was able to get away from the defenders in those instances and get to the ball first, pushing the defence back. As he mixes in more of that with his dropping in to link, he's going to develop so nicely.

    Joelinton

Really thought he was so good tactically today from a defensive standpoint. Works really well on that left side with the way Hall bombs forward. He covered for him really well and stopped Ndiaye exploiting any space Hall potentially left down that side, as he covered for him and doubled up on Ndiaye to support him too. Very easy to overlook this aspect of his game that really allows Hall to shine going forward. Did a heck of a job as his body guard today if you will.
  15. Can't believe we are above Liverpool Another game without scoring and a masterclass Nuno win tomorrow please
  16. Honestly, it's unbelievable how many simple passes are hit so poorly by the team. Frightening to think how good we'd be with a small improvement. Kills so many great opportunities. Woltemade and Miley are the only ones that consistently pass the ball so well, and hardly give it away needlessly.
  17. Ramsdale so cool back there. What a difference he makes to our play out from the back.
  18. Miley is so composed and calm in that midfield. While everyone else struggles with the basics. Need to keep improving in that area.
  19. What a ball from Woltemade that was. Shame about everything after
  20. Cut back to Willock was right there. So poor from Tino.
  21. I said early on Thiaw seems to get closer to scoring from set pieces than any of our other centre backs. Great to see it now paying off with goals. Just another string to the bow of the underwhelming centre back we paid too much for that resembles Bramble and Boumsong
