It's just the norm for anyone in UK really, you're nothing unless you make it in London.

Totally ignoring the fact that some people prioritise completely different things in life. I like visiting and staying in big cities, but I absolutely love coming back to Newcastle.

    Yikes!!!

You're nothing unless you make it in London? Really?!

Do Liverpool and Man United fans worry about the London factor like this too?

I don't want my poor english to send the wrong message but it's my impression watching him in interviews.. might be totally wrong of course.

I think the London thing is overstated.

These guys have more than enough free time to pop down to London, without having to be there every second of every day.

    It's not that deep.

Took the question directly out of my mouth

This London thing seems to be a big hang up with Newcastle fans man. It's extraordinary.

The 'big 6' can offer significantly higher wages than us.. He also seems like a lad that would rather stay in London.. maybe slightly suspect injury-wise and very awkward in interviews but I love him as a player.

Just wondering, out of interest, how he seems like a lad that would rather stay in London.

Looking at their team before the game, I was gobsmacked to see Casemiro and Evans at centre back.

The result was no surprise. I didn't think Palace needed to play particularly well.

They didn't have anyone else to be fair.

What was more astonishing was proceeding to then pair Mainoo with Eriksen in front of them, offering pretty much zero protection.

Very impressed with Palace. Full of confidence obviously helps but some really good footballers in every position.

They really do have some good players.

Just could never get the manager right. Glasner looks a heck of a coup though.

  7. Amrabat must be so relieved he's gone on loan initially with an option to make it permanent. Has been a disastrous move for him. He'll be straight back to Fiorentina.

How he can't get into that midfield to at least add some aggression and energy in there I'll never know.

Starting Mainoo and Eriksen in there was crazy.

Wan-Bissaka looks so fucking fed up

    Came through at Palace.

Knows all his friends are waiting to rinse him after the game.

Richards has had a quietly good game for Palace too. Might be the best USMNT CB currently.

Definitely noticed this. I like the look of him

Casemiro is genuinely one of the best DMs of last 10 years in world football. Actually feel sorry for him the individual.

£60 million on a Brazilian DM that had the luxury of playing in midfield for a Madrid team that controlled most games.

Bring him to the faster paced Premier league and have him have to cover acres of space in this dysfunctional Man United team.

His legs were extinguished after that first season.

While I agree. The same could have been said of Gordon.

Mount is a pretty basic player in general play, you just want him arriving in and around the box as a goal scorer. He finishes really well.

Team around him has to be a functioning unit though, to allow him to do so.

No idea what ten Hag's plan was for him in this team. Really strange signing for them.

Glasner has improved Palace. Their shape is great, workrate is bang on and they look dangerous in attacking areas.

And just look at the impact it is having on Maeteta. Terrifying how much your play can be affected by having the wrong person in the dugout.

Would a potential appointment of Dougie Freedman scupper any chance for us to sign a Palace player? Seems like that could be a clause that might be inserted for this coming summer if he comes in for then. Would be sensible by Palace if nothing else.

The article implies the opposite, that it might make it easier to acquire him.
