  1. Before this got lost in the nufc vs spurs bitchfest...

If we're talking about Portugese wonderkids...

He's got a season of Prem experience behind him, and Everton look like they wont be able to afford him on a permenant basis.

  2. There has been a lot said about the Chelsea owner possibly putting the squeeze on Mourinho as far as transfer funds are concerned.

The keenness to turn Chelsea FC into a viable business, like other big clubs, is said to be at the heart of the decision, and it is largely believed that there will be no big signings this week unless there are big sales.

"This is utter nonsense," he said on Russian radio, rubbishing the suggestions. "Everything will be the same.

"My relationship with Chelsea FC has not changed at all, and I would not want to change anything either."

It is understood that after completing the signing of Steve Sidwell on a free transfer, Mourinho wants to sign three more players, a centre-half, a right-back, and a striker who can complement Drogba.

The names of Alex, Jorge Andrade and Tal Ben Haim have been doing the rounds for the centre-half spot, while Micah Richards and David Villa supposedly the favourites for the other two.

  3. You'll be surprised at just how highly rated Scott Parker is outside Newcastle. Or maybe you won't. I reckon you'd get a pretty hefty fee if you did choose to get rid though.

Its shows you how few people in the media ect actually watch our games.

  4. would rather go for Quaresma

Quaresma's very good, in the Ronaldo mould but always been in the shadow of him for many years, very skillful although at times too much would say but he's now found a consistency at Porto and is currently their biggest asset, i'd expect him to be at a top club ala Barcelona in the near future.

He's already played for them and has said he will never play for Barcalona if Ryjkarrd is the manager.

  5. If we're after africans then we should sign Boka.

    Good shout.

Think we should get Kingston in, heard nothing but good reports about him in Scotland and seems a very dynamic player and a bit of a cult hero to boost. The Russian club that owns him only want about 500k for him which would be worth a gamble in anyones book.

Because our last superstar signing from Scotland turned out well. In my opinion we shouldn't go anywhere near someone who hasn't proven himself in a decent league yet.

Hardly costing £8m is he? Should we wait untill he proves himself and the the price becomes extorinate?

It's not like were exactly short of cash now is it. If we are aiming for the CL in the next few years we should not be going for this type of player. When did you last see one of the top 4 signing a player with his sort of background.

Also it seems utterly bizarre Sam would want a new DM when we have Butt and Parker who we know are very capable DM and most likely miles better than this guy from Hearts and that Boateng.

Sam showed at Bolton that you can only take a team of cheap imports so far before you hit a brick wall.

Well the papers have hit on a figure of £45 million, which could be true - on the other hand it could be total shite. Have you tried cutting up this £45m figure with potential signings for all the areas we need to strengthen if every single player we sign is ready made 'top four' quality that sum of money doesnt go very far. Chelsea have signed Sidwell - hardly CL quality but he's cheap and adds depth to thier squad. We could add 4 players (Boateng, Kingston, Viduka & Ben Haim) for the grand total of £1.5 million. If they dont work out then its unlucky, if they do we'll have done a fucking fantastic deal. Would you rather we signed a expensive player and when they get injured we are stuck with playing matty pattison in midfield?

  7. The reaction to Kingston and Boateng makes me giggle though. Is it such a surprise that good players can be found in not so obvious places? Just look at Drogba you want to talk about a late developer? He was playing in the second division at the age of 22!

There's a load of good african players out there in strange places - alot of them take the first offer abroad which is why they end up if places like Israel, Russia and Turkey not to mention agents arent the most model of business men in africa.
