Because I'm a stupid cunt that's been on summer holidays for 6 weeks and therefore haven't spoken to said friend since before the summer.

I remember one of my business friends in the UK saying at the time as well that this Ashley-business will not end well. I'll have to ask him about Moat as well, come to think of it he should probably have some good connections over at Seymour Price as well. I'll have to ask him about that, see if has any information that he's willing to spill the old bugger.

I just wish this could be sorted this week, it's a fucking pain in the arse trying to concentrate on work at the moment with this up in the air.

Newcastle v Sheff Wed - 19:45 KO 19/08/09 Pre-Match Thread

Sounds about right, but on the other hand he is a good enough right back for this league. As you mention he is weak in the air, but I don't agree with him being weak in the tackle, he's actually had a couple of good tackles and a couple of blocks so far this season. By all means, he's no world-beater but if he can continue to deliver those early crosses as he did for the 2nd on Saturday he's definitely worth the spot IMO. If we'd manage to get promoted though, he should be off. -

Yes, but somehow I actually want Ryan Taylor to continue in the RB role, he was actually quite good on saturday and when he does get in a cross they are bloody good. Can't see either Guthrie or Simpson starting tbh. -

Seems to me like it's far too risky if we were a PL team. If a bank or financial vehicle bought us now for 80-100m and invested say 20-30m in the team we would most likely get promoted without a shadow of a doubt. They would then be able to make a healthy profit as soon as next summer or probably an even bigger one if they continued to pump money into the club for another season to get us in to the Top 8.

I have never seen a picture of Rodgers before, he looks a Grade A cunt he does... -
Exactly. They can't be that far from a deal if the bid is true. Wouldn't sit next to a bloke I haven't been able to negotiate with for 2 weeks straight.

Was just about to post this. It just feels so wrong, kind of like when Given went to City in January.

I'm watching Ipswich - Leicester at the moment alongside Blackburn - Man City and I can honestly say, stupid as it sounds that I'm watching the CCC game more. Fast tempo, physical play, better refs (kind of) makes it more funnier to watch than the PL games were teams try to play around more. As a little sidenote I must say that Pearson actually has got Leicester playing some nice football. As for Ipswich though...oh Royston get your act together.

Well, it could be that the silence is a sign of something really getting underway. Maybe the parties are finally locked in final discussions as we speak. Believe!

They have all been mentioned along Moat in different stories over the last week or so.
