I have had to take a 10% pay cut due to the current climate. Surely this applies to football just as much as most other industries at the moment, probably even more so. And that is before we even move onto the fact that you got relegated. Despite of the current climate I've just had a 20% raise. Nice! Was that as a result of your goal and performance last night? Nah, not really. Not that much of a football player me. Not anymore anyways.

Read: O'Brien, Andrew & Bramble, Titus. Both Caldwell and Edgar are good enough at defending, if they get a good enough manager working with them it'll be no problems whatsoever IMO. The players O'Brien & Bramble had around them were a million years ahead of anything Burnley will have. Yep, but on the other I'd not think that Burnley aims to break the Top 4 next season or any time soon. Do you? It's survival vs. relegation we're talking about here. Are they worse than Michael Turner and Kamil Zayatte for example? I wouldn't think so anyways.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. And I've been through enough rough patches in my life to know that sometimes you'll have to make up some light at the end of the tunnel to get through.

No, I agree that it doesn't mean anything, and I'm aware that we've been fucked over dozens of times by these clowns. But on the other hand, this negativity that has somewhat taken a hold of this forum isn't exactly helping either. I'd rather be stupid and actually BELIEVE that we will somehow get out of this mess than being a cynical bastard and crying wolf all the time. But maybe that's just me.

Harris was confident last time too I'd rather he's sounding confident than going on about how it's an unsellable club.

What's a good storm? Is that one with really cool lightning? I suppose a good storm would be a rainstorm (in this case: a new owner) that falls over really dry farm land (in this case: our club). It's a stupid analogy but an analogy nonetheless.
-
I have a feeling that this'll be the silence before the storm. If it's a good or bad storm, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. But my money's on a good one. I'd say an announcement should be made this week.

Yeah, I think it's awesome as well!

Yep, it is THE Freddie Bobic. Other notable players from the tournament were; Stefan Kretschmar (Handball player) Sergey Barbarez (Hamburg) Erik Meijer (Former Liverpool-player) Jörg Albertz (Former Rangers-player) Franz Wohlfart (Former Austrian NT Goalkeeper) Guido Buchwald (WC-winner Italia 90) Marko Rehmer (Former Germany NT defender)

Catched a glimpse of the Chicago Red Stars (Women's Professional Soccer League or something) home shirt and it is lush. http://ep.yimg.com/ip/I/yhst-25310725489433_2060_29904900

So to summarize a bit we have; According to all reports there are 4 prospective buyers of the club. These are: (According to reports from the Chronicle, Daily Mail etc.) - The Profitable Group - A South African consortium - The Omani group involving the Sultan himself - A Consortium fronted by the Master of Disaster, the King of Pies, FFS Since almost all reports have been talking about an American consortium the only available alternative for them is to be the backers of the Shepherd consortium. If you think about he was dealing with the yanks what with all the talk about an MGM casino located at St James' Park. He was the one who organised our pre-season trip to the U.S. when Bobby was here as well. I'd say that it's a pretty good chance that he's fronting the American group.

American list by any chance? An American report created by the Bush administration nonetheless. So it must be the truth.

So do I I don't think an 83 year old Swede with a semi-on for flat pack furniture would be interested in us. He's also a a very, very cheap man. There have been loads of articles about him here in Sweden where he tells about his unglamorous lifestyle and how he NEVER wastes money. But on the other hand, if he's starting to become senile and is willing to hand over say half of his 22 billion USD wealth to NUFC than all would be dandy I'd say.

Bassong: 'I want to leave for my career and my future'
clintdempsey replied to Dave's topic in Football
I'd say that's a good CCC salary and he's probably doubled his salary with this offer. So unless he's a greedy cunt (I know, I know he's footballer after all) he should give us one season in the CCC for that kind of money and perhaps negotiate a promotion clause that stipulates a 50% raise or something like that. -
Nope I dont think you can use just following to define a big club. Celtic and Rangers have massive following i don't consider them big on European stage at all and i wouldn't say Leeds is a big club either. We aren't even in the top tier of English football anymore.. Wigan and Bolton are actually more attractive destinations then Newcastle at the moment. Both Celtic and Rangers would probably be recognised as big clubs on the European Stage as well. History should actually count for something in this argument aswell. And you would have more chance of actually having a conversation with your average european regarding Celtic, Rangers or Leeds than you would talking about Wigan and Bolton. Ok so admittedly we would be more well known to Europeans with some knowledge of football. That doesn't hide the fact that Wigan and Bolton to any right minded professional would see these as a step up from Newcastle at this moment in time in terms of International prospects, League competition, Wages and heavy exposure of the league around the world. I'd agree to that, but that doesn't make us any less massive. In terms of size, fanbase and value to the city and area in general we still are a massive club. IMO of course. But what do I know?

Not if you've taken a walk through fresh asphalt before you've made the marks, it wouldn't True. Tbh, I've no idea how you'd remove stubborn asphalt from your floor. Maybe a chisel? You would probably be better of laying a new floor. Could this perhaps be an analogy for a new owner? Could be, I suppose. Or even laying a new foundation for the club, which is exactly what we could be doing in starting over in the Championship, even with Ashley at the helm.

My logic would be that we still are a massive club what with our following. Or, you could say that we are a medium-sized club with a massive following, but that on the other hand would make us a massive club since the supporters are an integral part of any club, wouldn't you agree?

So using your logic Juventus were a small-time-Charlie-club when they were relegated?
