Nope I dont think you can use just following to define a big club. Celtic and Rangers have massive following i don't consider them big on European stage at all and i wouldn't say Leeds is a big club either. We aren't even in the top tier of English football anymore.. Wigan and Bolton are actually more attractive destinations then Newcastle at the moment. Both Celtic and Rangers would probably be recognised as big clubs on the European Stage as well. History should actually count for something in this argument aswell. And you would have more chance of actually having a conversation with your average european regarding Celtic, Rangers or Leeds than you would talking about Wigan and Bolton.

My logic would be that we still are a massive club what with our following. Or, you could say that we are a medium-sized club with a massive following, but that on the other hand would make us a massive club since the supporters are an integral part of any club, wouldn't you agree?

We already have Kanal 9 in Sweden though courtesy of the Canal+ people. Well actually as it stands TV4 in Sweden actually bought Canal+ Sweden during last season. Kanal 9 is affiliated with Kanal 5 (the previous owners of Canal+).

In Sweden they have been showing 1-2 games a week from the Championship already so I'd think there's a good chance that we'll be on a lot.

I will definitely try to fly in for as many games as possible next season. Will be fuckin' mint!

I'm actually feeling physically sick today (Could have something to do with the enormous amount of Broon Ale I had last night though). But at the same this was something we all knew was gonna happen for a long time. The club is rotten to the core and hopefully Alan will get the answers he wants and needs from the men in suits to be able to continue his work.

The thing is; I'm OK with this. All the Swedes on this forum probably knows about an Ice Hockey team called Malmö. I am a fan! I have been in love since 1989-90. They were the best team in Sweden, even in Europe but then they went out of the Elite Series in Sweden. And they stayed out, and I still loved them and they almost went in to administration. And then they became known as the Babyhawks since they kicked out all of their Stars. And they did their best and drew Full Houses but stilo didn't manage to draw full houses, and I still love them. I don't know at all what this means, but I still love Newcastle and I always will, no matter what division!

On the other hand Keegan might have wanted Lampard, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney. FACT, they would have cost a hell of a lot more than relegation. He was our best defender last year and those of us who insisted it was a mistake to sell him have been proved utterly right. It's cost us £10m to replace him with a worse player. Everyone suddenly thought he was shit and should be sold purely on the basis that James McFadden tore him a new one at St Andrews. It's more a bad testament to our other CBs that he's considered a good player IMO.

He's been a hell of a lott better for them this season than he were for us last season IMO. He had a crazy number of "Fouls Committed" last year but has cut down on that this year. Looked much more comfortable this year. I guess what I'm trying to say is that he really isn't such a good defender. He's a bruiser with a knack for kicking the shit out of people and occasionally getting the ball.

Actually what he´s good at is WINNING headers and actually connecting with the ball. He's not particularly good at directing said headers though, one of his few weaknesses. Doesn't seem to know where the fuck the ball's heading after his headers...

It's already been said but it looked really good on the telly. So good in fact that even the Swedish commentator was ravin' about it.

Canal+ will broadcast the game in Sweden at least. There's been an insane number of televised games featuring us this season. Off the top of my head there´s only been probably 5-6 games including the cup games that haven't been shown here. It's a pity we haven't performed better though...
