The difference between a good and great striker or CM probably impacts more on league postion that the same variable in goalkeeping. Just an opinion. I was a keeper for 10 years, btw, so i've nowt against the position.

Each to their own, but from what i've seen the lad can't strike, nor head, no control a ball with any real proficiency. Right now his reasons for being in the squad on a consistant basis amount to our own hideous lack of depth, his potential, and his athleticism. One with last a few years, the other two probably won't.

He'll improve, of that I have no doubt. But right now he's nowhere near PL standard, and this won't change he gets games in a lower league and returns when he's able to play with a bit of nous. He obviously has no clue how to use those terrific physical attributes in addition to his terrible technique.

He's not crap, he's a 19 year old who has played 1 full game in the Premiership. Yes, because he's crap. He has potential, fair enough. But right now - at 20, btw - he's a very poor footballer.

Shola was absolutely bloody abysmal that day. I vividly remember everyone in the SU bar constantly laughing at him then cheering when he was subbed off for Shearer. Wasn't Boumsong captain that day till Shearer came on? The game before he signed? I wouldnt have thought so Boum was indeed captain that day. 9 months or so after signing.

No. Shane Ferguson with 2 starts is a far better option.
