as long as he scpores a few though, thats ok isnt it? harewood got anihilated, but scored a few, and you want us to buy him? As opposed to Beckford, yeah I do. Missed the point again. Harewood got anihilated for being a generally poor player on the ball and not seeming to put the effort in, Beckford is exactly the same.
-
Can't wait to see what you of Beckford, he'll get absolutely anihilated on this board.
-
you base 99% of your debates on what may be man. preiciting who would or wouldnt succeed in this leage/the prem, and how many they would get. 'beckford is a 10 goal a season man in prem' for example. That's an opinion, without evidence we defer to them. In this case we have solid evidence that one player will give us what need, and no evidence whatsoever for the other.
-
Yes but would you pay that now to bring Harewood in on a permanent basis? As opposed to bringing in Beckford for £2M+, yes.
-
There's an astonishing lack of pragmatism on this board at times. Carroll should start every game apparently because of what he might be and we should sign Beckford because of what he could do. Harewood isn't ideal, but we all know that he's proven in the championship and we'll get promoted with him in the side. Let's get promoted and then start looking for suitable players for the premiership instead of following this daft dream about lower league players stepping up and becoming a morbid symbol of Newcastle united rising from the ashes.
-
Matty Fryatt better that Boyd. Who is we're trying to re-sign here, Shearer or Andy Cole? Move the f*** on.
-
Goals to minutes is what i'd prefer to go by.
-
Boyd is by far the better player. How many do you think he'd get in the championship?
-
He started 17 games did he?
-
Harewood has proved that he's a 1 in 2 man in this league, he's worth £1.5m.
-
Fryatt ahead of Boyd? He's a terrible player.
-
They're about the same, both are 20 goal strikers in the championship in a nutshell. Neither fit for the premiership.
-
He was in a brilliant England setup for 10 years, playing against the likes of Macedonia an out and out goalscorer should get 40 goals in 89 games. He's let England down when it mattered though. And now he's a very poor player with a good reputation, which is what I was originally getting at.
-
4th top for Man U? Aye, brilliant.
-
"He's" = He is, I didn't say "he was" now did I? As for being one of the best strikers England has ever had. Why has he failed badly in every tournament since 98 then? Shearer, Lineker, Ferdinand and Sheringham in my lifetime were all better players.
-
Over 20 games in the flesh I think, a fair few on TV aswell.
-
Personally speaking, i've watched Beckford for two years at Elland Road and he often looks a woeful player in league 1, he'll last a few games at best in the premiership before everyone at SJP turns on him. you've a season ticket at elland road ? How can he be woeful player in League 1 when Leeds consider him one of their best and he scores a bunch. They're all perfectly happy for him to leave man.
-
Ah right, Christ, thank God. Is it that amazing? Afonso Alves had a better record in a better league. Afonso was 25 or 26 when he did well for Herenveen though, this lad's just turned 22. Seems a hell of a lot of goals in a 4 month loan.
-
He got no goals after January playing for us, he wont for Hull either.
-
He has 17 goals in 16 games according to Sky, that's amazing.
-
Xisco's playing.
-
Man U chasing the game and they bring Mame Biram Diouf on ahead of Owen, world class striker tbh.

He's korean, he'd fit into most people's pockets.
