  1. Nolan and Barton in the middle could be interesting.
  2. Ronaldo

    Ryan Taylor

Not nearly as effective as Guthrie though.
  3. ... is that a pisstake? Ranger's missed countless sitters, man. You think he would have buried them two headers against Swansea, or pulled off that lob at Barnsley? Come off it man. Are you saying Ranger doesn't have the ability to score the goals Harewood is scoring? Ranger may have missed a couple of chances but look at Harewood against Notts Forest (couldn't even stick his leg out a yard to knock in a cross in the first half) and he missed a sitter against Boro. Ranger starts less games than Harewood and so, as I've mentioned before, most of the time when Ranger comes on we've given up attacking. We persevered with Harewood after some **** games, why can't we do the same with Ranger? Because Ranger isn't a proven goalscorer?
  4. Aye, plenty of ball retention without him. Ranger has intelligence?
  5. Carroll has the potential to become a good player, not a top player but a solid enough striker. There's no bias here. Myself and I suspect the majority of the rest of toon fans are confident of Harewood scoring more or less everytime he steps onto the pitch, reason in itself surely to want him to start.
  6. Just something lying around on the hard drive?
  7. When did you become such a terrible poster JH? Carroll has had a lot more time on the pitch than Harewood and Marlon has only really been match fit for the last 5 or 6 games. What an absurd argument though, he only scores goals than any of us could score.
  8. 5 players plus Colo makes more than half a team like. Not really, we've used how many?
  9. Smith looks the same player to me, Nolan's only real improvement is his goals tally and still often looks ineffective in midfield. Harper played well in the premiership under Keegan and after a run of games last season. Besides, 5 players?
  10. As does mine at the top of the page, moreso. Not really, because we haven't seen such a pronounced difference with the rest of the team.
  11. My point stands then, he hasn't improved as such. He's just adapted his approach to defending. And he's rediscovered the art of kicking people which sadly went missing last season.
  12. Not talking about effort, i'm talking about his aggressiveness. I think he's realised that you can't give the attacker the same amount of room and latitude as in La Liga.
  13. You're aware he started in a WC quarter final 3 years back? He hasn't improved, he's just adapted his game more efficiently No, it's just the opposition is far far worse this year. Same as you've said about Taylor really. There's a clear difference in the way Colo is applying himself though.

  15. He's got worse, still a good keeper though.
  16. Really? He's still not comfortable in the Premier League in his so-called best position. He hasn't really improved much since 2006 tbh. Looks very comfortable in this division though.
  17. 'for the sake of 25k a week' - it's not pocket change. Did you miss the second part of that sentence? What's promotion worth? That 25k can be better spent IMO. Remember we're still at Mike Ashley's Penny Pinchers United. Better spent? What happens if Nolan and Shola are injured or away during the same period?
