  1. It's one of the reasons we've conceded 1 goal in 5 games. It's not ideal but it's worked thus far tbh.
  2. The one i struggled with was R Taylor or Simpson for RB. Based on what I've seen of Taylor in that position and what a Blackburn fan has told me about Simpson i'm going for the latter. Harper Simpson S Taylor Coloccini Enrique Guthrie Barton Smith Jonas Ameobi Lovenkrands Nolan is a better player than Smith (just) but right now has nowhere near the stamina required to play football at this level. I hate putting Smith in there but it has to be done.
  3. Carroll is capable of 1 in 3. This is fun. you actually believe that?
  4. With Shola out, None of a strikers bar Lovekrands are capable of 1 in 3 imo. Ranger is still an unknown quantity obviously
  5. We cannot keep relying on midfielders to score, we need Harewood in well before the game
  6. Ronaldo

    Marlon Harewood

This will keep Andy Carroll out of the team anyway, good news
  7. Ronaldo

    Shola Ameobi

    not a good start mate
  8. I don't think many people would want Shearer over Hitzfeld. It's pretty much irrelevant though. except 30,000 odd who go to the game
  9. I agree, apart from the part in bold which is fabricated nonsense
  10. That, imo, has been a major contributory factor in our fall from grace, letting bad manager after wrong manager after completely wrong manager 'have a go'. This topic is about the prospect of Alan Shearer getting the manager's job, you're proving my point right there Hughton is so far, doing a good a job. Why on earth would we replace him with someone who has proved fuck all apart from the fact he's not a premiership manager
  11. If it's not broke, don't fucking fix it. Hughton has to stay in the job for the time being. If it all starts going pete tong, then the situation should be addressed
  12. Pretty sure Watson was 16 when he made his debut. Correct. who could forget that throw-in tbh
  13. We need players, if a few bad attitudes are prepared to come in on a modest wage i'd welcome them with open arms
  14. Hardly his fault his hip died on him. You clearly dont know the facts mate, at 24 he basically gave up trying to be a footballer FACT. I think you misunderstood, York You had a go at whatshisface for not using facts, then you make a totally unsubstantiated statement and pass it off as a fact. I enjoyed the irony, that's all - i don't necassarily disagree with you, Ron. I wasn't passing it off as a fact, I was merely pointing it out that whatshisface doesn't know the facts behind Bernard's demise
  15. I don't like the fact that people on this board seem incapable of giving praise to one player without being vindictive about another. Coloccini and Jonas would both walk into a championship best Xl and showed against Palace how important they are to us. The Jury is still out on Jonas' attitude but Coloccini has demonstrated a willingness to adapt and work hard recently. I'm very, very glad that both are still here. WTF? All I said was Enqique wanted to stay, Colo and Jonas never said they did and I know they never said they wanted away but I bet both would have jumped at the chance to go. Me saying Jose is happy to stay where as the other MAY not be is not me being vindictive. fair enough mate, but there's far too much negativity towards the Argentines, they represent 2 out of our 6/7 key players tbh and we should get behind them
  16. And I bet you also thought he'd never drop Owen.. he benched him for one game (when fit)
  17. Look at his 3 goals. Man Utd, West Brom, Boro. All very good finishes in and around the 6 yard box. Looks like he's what you wanted. damn right, that was my point tbh
  18. Hardly his fault his hip died on him. You clearly dont know the facts mate, at 24 he basically gave up trying to be a footballer FACT. I think you misunderstood, York
  19. It was only eight games. If judgements are made from such a small amount of time then Hughton is probably better than Moyes. He certainly didn't do anything in that time to warrant replacing Hughton at this stage of the season
  20. Leicester City (h) - WIN there's the clue
  21. well, my answer will be same as yours if the question was about keeping Hughton (hey I got his name right first time ) and the team form dips? what then? If it isn't working with Hughton then we look at others for the job, including Shearer
  22. That's because we were stupid enough to play him all last season, and give him the armband
