    RIP sale thread.

the thing is, the last thing we need is another armchair football fan from the UK.
  2. Lescott will go down the route of Rio Ferdinand now and basically never get the credit he deserves. He'll never live up to price tag because he doesn't have a flashy method of defending and will likely turn into the man at the back who does his job while the superstars win the game. I'd probably put a decent amount of money on him starting for England in 2012 though. Really cant decide if he'll replace Terry or Ferdinand like
  3. an example of me doing that please? before you mention Owen, half of this board want the lad to break both legs in the near future. Forgive me if I saw that he was giving the team basically NOTHING a good few months before the majority realised it.
  4. I said at the Weekend that I wanted Krul to play. I want him to develop as player as much as anyone else. More than most on this board judging by the "if Taylor goes, that'll be me" and "why am I even watching this" comments that have been appearing with more frequency since May. I said that he wasn't ready to be our no.1 keeper and that Harper was clearly our best bet in the short-term between the posts. What exactly is wrong with that assertion? Harper has been solid as a rock since WBA
  5. Lescott is an absolute class act. Man City have overpaid but compared to £25m for Adebayorwife, £32m for Robinho and £16m for Toure this represents not quite horrific business. He's probably the difference between 5th and 4th

    RIP sale thread.

The fact he didn't mention Man United makes me believe he was referring to league finishes, surely
  7. hows that ? we didn't have the money to provide what he wanted,he walked. why couldn't he cut his cloth like the every other manager has to ? how,-- gratuitous indulging in Keegan bashing, then he returns , we are good,= they are twats. come on you understand this. it doesn't matter who the person is i'll slag them off when they do something to be slagged off for and applaud accordingly when they deserve it. i'll not defend someone to the hilt without evidence especially if i know they have previous. Praise the lord, sense at last. What's Keegan done he should be slagged off for though? Yeah, yeah he should've stayed with a lopsided squad when his pleas were going unheard. - Walked out on Newcastle, had to be persuaded to return - Walked out on Newcastle again - Walked out on Fulham - Walked out on England - Walked out on Manchester City - Walked out on Newcastle again. Regardless of what he has achieved, we can't just ignore the above. Bobby Robson - Sacked at Fulham Sacked at Barcelona Sacked at Newcastle Regardless, still one of the greatest. Sacked at Sporting Lisbon Sacked at PSV

“It wasn’t too long ago that Newcastle were above Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in the table during the Sir Bobby Robson era, and there is no reason why that potential can’t be lived up to again.” must have missed that
  9. Depends where it is, but i'm a centre back looking for a Sunday League team
  10. Like he'd go to Fulham (if he has any desire whatsoever to remain an nufc player)

If we lose Jonas and one of Taylor and Coloccini, i'd be prepared to write off any chance of promotion. I don't think Shearer would feel too different

    RIP sale thread.

Say we get rid of Jonas, Taylor and Coloccini, would Shearer still be willing to come under Moat?
  13. Said it from June, this is Chelsea's season. They'll win it in April imo
  14. Ferdinand was about £28.5m
  15. Dave man, for fuck sake So many names, so many tears.
  16. Barton was the most expensive defender in England iirc
  17. agreed, with the exception of Kadar read "Kadar to start please" as "Coloccini not to start please" take it you've missed the last 3 games Whilst away I only saw the WBA game. Saw highlights and heard various opinions of the rest. Coloccini was very solid against Reading, decent enough against Wednesday and according to a couple, our best player by far on Saturday
  18. Taylor's attributes suit the charger role, however, to play that role you need to be intelligent enough to know when to go and when to back off, he isn't sadly. The amount of goals we've lost because he's either way out of position or basically right on the line is ridiculous. Like a lot of players, he'll shine in the Championship and I hope we keep him. Any premiership club with genuine ambition should stay clear though.

  20. It might just sicken me to my stomach to see Keegan discussing the premiership on TV. Perhaps even lauding Owen, whilst we're in our current predicament......
