  1. He isn't the answer yet, far too one paced and lacking in technique. If only we could send him out on loan for a couple of season
  2. Ronaldo

    Viduka

The fact is, when he becomes available for selection again he has to start, given that Xisco no longer exists
  3. motm by a mile yesterday, only Enrique came close
  4. You've got to be joking. You've doubted me before haven't you ............. We'll concede a penalty every game with those two together. My main issue with Taylor aren't his attributes, but the fact that he hides when he is needed defensively. How many games have we seen where Taylor literally disappears from the game and his partner is left to do most if not all of the defending? I'm glad other people have noticed this as well. How does he make so many mistakes then? Because when things do come his way he can't handle things. It's true though, whenever we need players to stand up he hides away from the action, then as soon as the incident happens just stands there and points. Total cowardice. Then he tries and plays the battling Geordie lad role by doing stupid things that he thinks will win him points with the crowd, clattering into Reina for example. Despite the fact that he doesn't have the abilities to be a good player anyway, that's what makes good players and separates the good players from the great players. Look at someone like Gazza, even when he was having a bad game, he never hid, never. When some people with that much talent do. Obviously he knew how good he was so that helped. But if you haven't got the ability to start with at least try your best to make it up with any kind of character you have. Something going by Taylor's performances on the pitch he doesn't have, then he comes out to the press talking all of this rubbish, he's a fraud. Simple as. which should have earned him a red card, when we already had Beye and Enrique injured and Bassong suspensed ridiculous

    Rob Lee

indeed. In his prime with Keegan he played a bit like Lampard, although not as good tbh. Great player was Lee, certainly along with Bearsley and Cole the main reason we finished 3rd in 93-94
  6. When are we allowed to say he's not been good enough? When he's gone in the summer having been relegated as the most expensive defender in the club's history? The lad needs a season in a normally funtioning team, not this shower of s****. Who was the last defender a club paid £10m for who needed 12 months to settle in? His weaknesses, being getting turned, physical weakness & appalling defending when forwards are attacking the ball into the box, aren't anything that will be fixed by having time to settle. He needs to start looking like a good defender now. Errr...Vidic? tbh Liam's argument is flawed anyway as it's fair to say that most teams in a position to spend £10m on a defender generally have a decent enough midfield in place problem being that quite a lot of people said that all we needed was defenders, in spite of myself and one or two others saying the setup of the team with regard to being more offensive was the real weakness.] I'm pleased to see that you have now came around to my way of thinking. As for Coloccini, hes' OK, we have 3 good centre halfs at the club, but Taylor and Bassong are the best combination. Best combination based on one game? based on my judgement on the attritubes of the players, and what I prefer to see from my central defenders playing in this league that we play in. They've only played together once so it's impossible to state for if they're a better partnership than Coloccini and Bassong. I doubt we'll see that partnership again either unless Coloccini gets injured. I think playing together once is pretty much irrelevant to the judgement mate, I think they both have the most important attritubes to be first choice If you mean understanding between them, then that only comes through playing together. You really spoil yourself with your stupid opinions. Taylor a good defender. He continues giving away goals and basically looking out of his depth every game and you still consider him a good defender, honestly. Admit you were wrong about him like most have
  7. Berbatov is a lazy b******. berbatov tend to slow playing..... against barca... barca will rape their arse apart. I at at lot of this guy's posts.
  8. Ofcourse there is exceptions. Guys like Phelps and especially Lewis are freaks. Tyson was 5'10 and 220lbs, he wasn't unathletic. Nolan is a normal bloke though, he isn't born with huge shoulders like these guys, and if he is 14st i would find it a little odd. Lennox Lewis's physique is studied by sports scientists to this day, an absolute genetic monster
  9. in all seriousness, who told you that? blatantly isn't 14 stone like
  10. no chance tbh, post 97, Shearer needed a pacey, workhorse striker next to him to be considered especially effective
  11. N'zogbia not in the same class asGinola, or Robert. He is more like Olivier Bernard, (he thinks he is a better player than he really is) Bernard was a very good left-back until Souness convinced him that he wasn't
  12. he basically has to set foot in the USA to make that a reality
  13. that would be an ecu.... ahem ......YES!

    David Beckham

rather have Joe Cole than Beckham in my team anyday, legs well and truly gone
  15. Ronaldo

    David Beckham

rubbish, he's miles behind Joe Cole and Ashley Young for starters. Walcott and SWP are also more effective Blinkered by hatred, Joe Cole has never played consistently well for England. Walcott aside from his hattrick has done jack s***. SWP has very very rarely (almost never) performed for England. Ashley Young is the only one out of the four that has all the attributes to be successful for England and even he is not fully tested at the highest level. the premiership is the highest level
  16. the 27 who've voted the latter have clearly never seen Mbia play
  17. In all honesty whilst Given is a good keeper in terms of ability, he'll always be a wrong fit for a defence needing organisation and authority. See ya
  18. Only one paper has claimed they value him at £18 million, every other source says £12 million. £8m plus Insomnia and a gentlemens agreement with citeh to leave veloso alone if we sell them given i suppose. lets hope it's someone other than doing the gentleman's agreeing "you dont have the arsehole to play Hart every week"
  19. yes, because if Chelsea win it i am a grand richer and yes, because the idea of Man U or Liverpool winning a sandcastle competition makes me sick
  20. Cisse and Martins, sounds good to me
  21. You're not Bob Murray are you, he knew all about accounts. No I'm not. I think even Bob Murray would give up trying to explain the clubs finances to you though. he doesn't have to explain anything other than the success his club had when he ran it. Your talking about accounts, and I'm giving you a very successful accountant. If you think you know better than him how to run a football club........then again, you still back this DOF bollocks don't you , so you're detached from reality in both directions. Yes, that's exactly how it works, he was an accountant and since his club didn't get up to much that explains all you need to know. Just keep on borrowing a spending while avoiding answering all questions about where the moneys coming from is the way eh, Stevie. And I'm the one supposed to be detached from reality. so yo think that because Bob Murray did a good job for his club do you, matthew lad ? I suppose you do have an extra motivation here, other than being unable to admit your DOF bollocks has been shown up for what it is, and this is that your man Mike will be responsible for us playing in your local area of Bristol soon. Care to tell us when Arsenal and Liverpool are going bust, and why their supporters are so unhappy these days Arsenal are in very real danger of struglling financially, I imaigine they're in a posiiton to spend should the worse happen becasue they have been managed financially and not spent huge amounts. Liverpool on the other hand are a team waiting to collapse. and lets all hold hands, hum and hope they do
  22. Guthrie is 21 and if he anything about him he'll force his way into the team sooner or later
