Can't say he's ever looked that good to me. Would have taken him on a free the other year but he chased the cash like Sidwell IMO; never stood a chance of getting in before Terry and Carvalho. That´s easy for us to say on the sidelines isn´t it? As a player you just want the chance to prove yourself at the highest level possible and, yes, maybe earn a decent wage while you´re at it. Sidwell isn't a defensive midfielder. Neither was speed mate. People are being far too simplistic about this. In my opinion Sidwell would make an excellent signing if we converted him into a DM, for the long term. i.e use coaching skills.... they haven't been used in a while at our club. agreed

Owen missed plenty of clear opportunities, while Oba often shows good composure and cool finishing when one on one with the keeper.. i'd say that Owen is the cleverer player, but Martins' finishing instinct isn't bad either.. indeed, Owen is the more instinctive and intelligent, but in terms of overall finishing they're pretty much on a par. Oba brings so much more to the team
