dont touch the watch

once it again it seems our club is being run by monkeys

What game have you been watching over the last 2 years? The same ones all the mega clubs who haven't signed Coloccini in that time I am guessing. Got to admit the lad has always done the biz on Footy manager esp with a ifluence rating of 20 & being able to play CB & DMC. Since when has Anton been a decent to good centre back? I'll be surprised if Anton even manages to get into the s*** centre back bracket, nevermind the decent bracket. he's like Taylor, very very average at best Coloccini would be some signing but doubt Wise has even heard of him tbh

It's got nothing to do with whether you've spent much. It's more to do with whether you've improved your team. You could argue that the only people we've got shot of wouldn't have played anyway, and therefore we've improved our team (not squad). If Spurs end up selling the Sunderland bound four, plus Keane and Berbatov, they haven't really improved either. Blackburn, West Ham, Everton, Villa haven't really improved their squad either. Now is not the time to worry. A month from today is the time to worry. nah a month from today is the time to write the season off for the 4th year in a row

£18m for Arshavin seems like ok business to me. Great player, exactly what we need, 5 years left in him at least
-
you've got a visa have you, how'd you pull that one off?
-
Souness spent £50m.... nearer £55m tbh this time we have a manager I have complete confidence in
-
what have we spent? a net of £15m perhaps, becoming very embarrasing
-
piss me off no end if Spurs get him, we might as well sign Robbie Savage
-
thats a bit like having Terry and Ferdinand at the back when they were both 21 yr olds isn't it? Ferdinand (Rio) was in the england squad for the WC at 19, Terry was there at 21 Taylor and Anton are nowhere near that level and probably never will be
-
I'd be interested to see Owen's goals to games ratio compared to Martins's own
-
yeah, and we all know how well we did under Roeder
-
absolutely to be honest Taylor struggles against physical forwards anol. And dont anyone dare give me the Drogba argument, he's scored how many goals against us? ffs Taylor was outmuscled time and time again against Kenwyne Jones

We never went anywhere with Hislop given that his display at Blackburn cost us the title. as much as Pav forgetting to cover his near post (ie goalkeeping rule no.1) against Liverpool they were similar keepers. probably why neither one ever made the no.1 spot his own. It's no surprise that not even Sheff Wed wanted Pav when he left us. How he got into a title contending team is beyond me. One of Keegan's biggest mistakes is not replacing him with a quality keeper at the start of 93-94

aye a know

good guy Pav, met him a few times, but I was happy when Keegan brought in Shaka then Shay because we were never going anywhere with him
-
it was Shaka's place he took to be honest. At the end of the 96-97 season Hislop was no.1 but Pav played the last 2 games due to his illness Was it not last four? Pretty sure he kept 4 clean-sheets out of 4 and it effectively won us 2nd place. Could be wrong. i just remember him playing against Arsenal (A) and Notts Forrest in the last game, but could be wrong. Pav was a player i wanted to like but couldn't because he'd make mistake after mistake and the fans just never seemed to notice re pav......he was in the long tradition of very good nufc shot stoppers who could make saves that'd make you think "not many would have got that". very good coming out to feet and possibly the best keeper at the time with the ball at his feet, important with the recent rule change of the time. his handling and decision making were at times absolutely abysmal to point of 'literally what the hell is he doing?'

if we dont sign at least 1 quality CB we can forget about a top 8 spot. 2 CB's would be ideal

Get away. a know, what an absolute load of bollocks, Rooney is 10 times the player
