i'm pretty sure it was tbh

aye, fuck Coloccini, shite anyway
-
Rather weaken a league rival rather than an irrelevant club. daft comment tbh
-
lets be honest, it's doubtful. I almost feel sorry for N'zogbia, blatantly going to be behind Milner in the pecking order, despite him having about a tenth of the Zog's ability. Still N'zogbia has nobody to blame but himself for being such a whinging tart.

for it to be a decent transfer window we'll need players that we presently dont have, which tbh was my original point mate

Your expectations of the recruitment team are so high to the point of delusion tbh. The fact that we've submitted bids for Modric, Arda and Aimar (and failed in all) tells you something doesn't it? We're after them but we can't attract them enough at the moment - we've been dogshite for a good few seasons now; we're almost officially off the map as things stand. I'm not being a doom-monger or serial pessimist by saying that, it's just the truth at the moment. I've got faith in Keegan to get us back into a position where we are attractive again, but at the moment - for one thing - nine other teams in the league have got Europe over us. You're forgetting one other thing too. Two of those players, two of our top targets..... where were they gonna be a few weeks after our approaches? Euro 2008. That tournament has f***ed us, and a lot of other teams, royally up the anus this summer. They weren't going to jump at the chance of joining Newcastle United right away, when they could wait, perform well at the Euros and join a much better side with better immediate prospects. However, like i say, i do have faith in the guys at the top to get us back up there and in contention for the best players soon. But that said, we are going to just keep slipping away if we're not even in with a shout for an Intertoto spot by the end of this season. We need top players in the coming seasons, and tbh, we need Europe if we're gonna get them. that's part of my point york, we should have had our targets sewn up before the tournament, all it does is inflate, egos and prices Did you read past that sentence though? The reasons for that is because the players wouldn't come when they would wait, play their heart out at the Euros, and get a better club after them. Any player with his head screwed on right would do that. Did a Premier Leauge club even sign a player before the Euros? the smart play is to get it sorted before the tournament starts if there's a good chance of price inflation. TBF I dont expect us to go out and sign Pirlo. I just feel our recruitment team haven't been punching our weight this summer. Look who Spurs have managed to attract, Man city last summer, west ham 2 summers ago. We should be achieving something similar, something's not working quite how it should.

Either way here's hoping we bring in a playmaker, because we badly, badly need one. Why we've left it this long is beyond me thought tbh. How I'd love us to get Baptista. Could play in midfield or in Viduka's position
-
so we dont need to replace him for that reason? Dave we need someone in that midfield with something about them. Someone you could describe with words other than tenacious and determined. We've got precisely nobody that teams dont want to play against We don't need to 'replace' him as he was a waste of space. And considerable money. We always needed a good midfielder and the fact he's f***ed off makes it easier for us to sign one. If we don't get one though, we're certainly no worse off for Emre leaving. when he played, he caused problems. Everton last season a case in point
-
Didn't O'Brien only score 2 headers for us? you're forgetting about Viduka and Beye tbh

He got one against Sunderland last year if im correct. The one where the goalie didnt really dive for it? EDIT: Nah checked, it wasnt a free kick. Didn't he crack one off the bar vs Deportivo in the Intertoto? Not a goal, but as close as I can remember him getting that was Emre
-
Absolutely bonkers. care to elaborate sir?
-
Why the hell did we get rid of Emre? no replacement as yet, certainly nobody with his ability in the middle of the park. We got peanuts for him, and squad would look a hell of a lot better with him in it, injury prone or not. clueless man honestly. Time to panic, we need 3 new players in the next 2 weeks and I cant see it happening, fuckers
-
I reckon we could do with a few more centre backs. We could of his standard , f*** Taylor and Faye . bit harsh on Faye. I'm happy for him to be on the bench
-
It was 12 goals and 21 assists he got that season. Absolute legend
-
viana v wolves, afta tht stinker in marseille yep, everyone got it that day
-
I dont know how much of this thread you've read but I made it quite clear that I think Ameobi is a waste of space and very much surplus to requirements. Stop diving in with two feet. If the club had told Ameobi he wouldn't be a part of their plans this season he would have left, i'm sure of it. But I think there's been a lot of indecision behind the scenes and as a result we're left with 2 donkeys
-
next Huckerbee tbh. No doubt a goal at Kingston Park will be dragged up by ESPN as the greatest of all time in 5 years time
-
na, he's not moved because someone within our hierarchy in unable to go out there and find a replacement. Roeder was on Sky Sports news the other day and said the club won't mind people knowing they've put Shola up for sale but Norwich can't afford him. He could have gone to Stoke but turned them down, Ipswich were in for him and said they never heard back from his agent. He's here to sit on the final year of his contract. If someone had told him he was surplus to requirements he would have left, no doubt in my mind

Get away aye, no fucking chance

Wtf? First of all, it was well documented that several clubs have had offers for Shola accepted, but he simply won't budge - how's that our fault? As for Smith... erm, who the f*** has made an offer for him then? So it's the board's fault for: 1, not being able to change free will of a human being. and 2, not making other clubs bid for our players. being on first name terms with Shola for a while I know that if the guy knew he wasn't wanted he'd fuck off, no question. No way he'd drag his heels unless convinced he had a job to do here. As for Smith, he's ex Man U, played for England as recently as last season, you dont think if we made him available teams wouldn't bite?
