On what basis? His Blackburn form? on his Chelsea and Blackburn form oh and Milner and N'zogbia's form What form of N'Zogbia's? At left back? left-wing actually. I love charlie don't get me wrong but Duff has to be in the side N'Zogbia on the left wing has been about half an hour this season. That's still about half an hour longer than Duff has played well for NUFC mind. talking about N'zogbia this season is almost as pointless as talking about Duff's performances last season, no indication of either of their abilities as attacking players

On what basis? His Blackburn form? on his Chelsea and Blackburn form oh and Milner and N'zogbia's form Milners performance last night was probably better than all but one or two of Duff's since he has been here and although he played well he wasn't fantastic. exageration right there, Milner was ineffective last night

you're telling me, three times i've heard/read that Taylor is the future of this club since 9.40PM as a defender he's a liability ffs

Biggest problem at the time was Shepherd though - loads of stuff been written that suggests he was underminign Robson, and buying selling players himself - The Woodgate and Speed sales, and 'alleged' Rooney bids being the most well reported. The chairman had clearly lost confidence/faith in Robson, so probably wouldn't have backed him for too many players had he left him in charge anyway. As I said above, I felt it was the right time for Robson to step down at the end of the season before (after losing in the UEFA to Marseille, and finishing 5th). While finishing 5th was still good, the results had been slipping away, and there were the same rumours as now about him l'osing the dressing room'. We should have moved him to Director of Football or similar, and installed a new manager at the end of the season, giving the new man the whole summer, while keeping Sir Bobby at the club in a new role. We all know what happened, and the rest is history, and the damage done is still being repaired now. in fairness to Robson he would have played Bellamy and Kluivert up front the season he got sacked. Would have spent the January money on a good centre half and full back (not Boum and baba) and finished top 4 quite possibly, 5th/6th worst case senario in the summer 05, Souness spent £40m. Had Robson been given this type of money we'd be challenging for something, but it's unlikely we'd have won anything in fairness, especially with his deteriorating health

whoever voted Shearer needs a slap, 46 fkin people! what sort of idiot...........
-
give mensa a call mate
-
very dissapointed if he is sacked, i'll give him 3 or 4 more games
-
Alan Shearer should climb off sofa and show that he wants to manage

our defence is a disgrace, until we sort it we don't deserve to win Harsh to blame the defence when it sounded like both Bentley's goals were unstoppable and Tugays was when we had pushed on, maybe an error by Beye, but I'll wait and see it before I judge it. last 2 goals were a disgrace

we were lucky not to concede 8 last week, how you can even mention bad luck in relation to that game is beyond me

What like the last one he took? Well in shooting range, smarty pants... Its no good being negative before the kick is taken. Each set piece is a carte blanche with no connection with what has happenned before. Robert used to feed off the positive energy in the crowd before taking his free kicks. Nonsense. Robert used to take 4 or 5 practice kicks before the game. If he scored them he scored in the game. Miss them, he missed in the game. He got his confidence from himself not the crowd. yep, James you're talking rubbish mate

So would I. indeed

Fayes isnt a tough player? Taylor tries to be tough but gets muscled off the ball an awful lot

classy girl

we finished 3rd, 4th and 5th with Andy O'Brien, let's get him back Teddy Sheringham, been there and done that, let's sign him too
-
I like Harper but to call him a top class shot stopper is bordering on ridiculous to be honest
-
just got back, yes the defence was shit but the attack just as bad Milner on the left, N'zogbia on the right? WHY you fucking joker? Enrique off, N'zogbia goes to LB? does that make any sense to anybody else? constant long balls being played to men of no phsyical strength/stature, Owen doesn't have a chance Butt and Smith being played whatever the weather, but hard workers but neither creates anything going forward I'm a fan of Allardyce, but 2 weeks in a row he's got it horribly, horribly wrong and everyone watching can see it
-
Marseille the only time i've seen toon fans fighting amongst themselves, very very depressing
-
you make a very good first point but there is no way he is as good as nesta. it's definetly between Nesta and Ferdinand, Nesta just edges it for me

why 3 years? Drogba's only performed at his highest level for one season, Rooney in 2006/07 was better than Drogba in 2005/06 so at the most Rooney is one year behind Drogba, which isn't suprising considering the two players' ages. So far this season tho, Rooney's probably got the edge, and if he continues playing as he is at the minute, there's a good chance he'll better Drogba's form of last season. Rooney was bad last season. 23 goals for Rooney last season, 16 for Drogba the season before that, and two of those were in the Charity Shield. i'd say both are fairly equal in what they contribute to the team outside of scoring goals. you say that but in 2005-06 Drogba had a ridiculous number of assists
-
almost a silly thread, Drogba is miles ahead of any other CF in the prem, i'm one of the few to have thought this for a good couple of years now. Give Rooney 3 years and he'll be challenging
