Got to remember we only spent last summer because we had nearly £35m incoming from player sales due to Cabaye, Debuchy, Tavernier and the clause for Fraser Forster.
Aye, what a load of revisionist crap.
Based on what? Colback's pretty average but Barton does nothing better than him. Sissoko pisses all over him even on a bad day.
That's the thing, him getting 'stuck in' with the daft tackles was a product of the fact he was otherwise unable to assert himself on games. He'd frequently get physically dominated to the point of embarrassment in CM.
Got Villareal to within inches of a champions league final and Malaga to within seconds of a semi final
It's City who can't do Champions League footy, like. Rolling over sides in the league with mercenary players every week probably isn't the best preparation for facing Europe's most prestigious teams.
Their squad is pretty poor for the money they've spent
They've got lots of quality players and lots of pretty mediocre ones. For what they've spent players like James Milner should've been off years ago.

My only real annoyance with Carr is that despite being a 'fan', he's complicit in finding players for the purpose of resale value who aren't particularly suitable for the team. I also think if he truly 'has Ashley's ear' a more concentrated effort to stress the need for a proper manager and squad of players would be justified.
Funny he's never spoken a bad word about either Pardew or Carver, then. Not to mention the fact he's mentioned enjoying his new position. Now that his pace has more or less gone there's absolutely nothing to warrant him getting PL games in midfield or up front.
