The only example you can provide is his first PL start. He's never had games anywhere near as bad as Colo, Williamson, Taylor and MYM have in the past 2 seasons.
-
I have certainly never written a player off based on their first or second start in this league. Inexperience is never an acceptable excuse for lack of effort, mind.
-
Where has this lack of strength and aerial ability been apparent? You're just making things up now. He's certainly not slow, either. He's perfectly fine on the ball for a 23-year-old CB.
-
Not when the alternative is Mike Williamson.
-
Quite a ridiculous statement given that he's clearly already an improvement on what we're starting.
-
It's the same old crap. Young local lad must be poor even though he's had very few bad games and does everything pretty well you'd want from a CB.
-
Mong of the week the competition on here, like. I think people have forgotten what a CB actually does after years of having ones that can't defend. Size and inexperience are the only things holding him back.
-
I don't know about Palace but he turned down West Brom because they didn't want to implement his ideas for building a club philosophy from the ground up. Horrible club in a knackered part of the country anyway.
-
You're kidding me. With the right coaching, partner and plenty of time, he can become an adequate, average, regular Premiership defender who can start a few games on the run and deputize for better CBs when required. He's 23, man. You're basically suggesting he'll do nothing but stagnate and even regress from this point. Brainless. Yeah, snagging quality CBs for 'our' club sounds completely realistic.

Sherwood had his chance and took it. I don't blame him for being selective about his next job. Agree with the rest.
-
Praise the fucking lord. Best news in a while that. We're much better without him. Quite hilarious that is the case considering the fact we don't have another CDM.
-
His size aside there's nothing to think he won't make one hell of a CB with time, coaching and the right partner.
-
I can't think of many, if any, with both of those weaknesses that've had very good PL careers, mind
-
As someone's already alluded to, their own manager headbutts opposing players, proudly lies to fans, trivialises rape on TV, and cheats on his wife. Aye, Papiss 'Am very happy' Cisse's a nasty piece of work.
-
Christ. As if there was a time we had a manager as fantastic as Bobby and a player as brilliant as Robert. I feel like an old man reminiscing about 50 years ago, it's so far removed from the rotting corpse we're stuck with now.
-
Sol and Ince care about nowt but themselves, man. Anything that detracts from the 'it's coz we isn't white' charade will hardly be welcomed. Pair of arseholes.
-
Spain was definitely the right country for him. His astute reading of attacks saw him through 3 good seasons in English football but once he started deteriorating physically with age it was like kicking away a stick from a blind man.
-
Resorting to last minute loan attempts that have virtually no chance of coming off instead of identifying suitable targets early in the window and spending some of their vast financial resources on them. The bloke's draining the life out of AFC.
-
If true that tells you everything you need to know about how suitable Arsene Wenger is for top-level PL management in 2015.
-
You should've told him to get on it.
-
Gosling wasn't the club captain costing us stupid goals for 3 consecutive seasons, though. I only get vaguely wound up when his abhorrent fan club on here defend the indefensible instead of just putting their hands up and admitting their hero is actually quite shit.
-
Probably because we've got the same 3 CBs we had in the Championship 5 years ago.
-
Paully, out of interest what do you blame his utterly shit defensive judgement on, his brain getting old?
-
Mapou has pace. Colo looked fucking awful next to him, too. Same with Bassong.
