  1. He was a very classy defender who was capable of the odd gaff, and raised the game of whoever was charging next to him, without ever being much of a leader. Certainly someone you'd want in your side, but he's overrated on here. I've seen it said that he was better than Rio and Terry which is utter, utter guff.
  2. There's absolutely no question in my mind, mate. Lee at his 93-96 best was a CM perfectly suited to attacking PL football.

    Worst Newcastle XI?

    Sounds like Tiote to me.
  4. Disclaimer: That I've seen, and taking into account only NUFC performances and especially proven team/positional harmony. Given Venison Howey Albert Enrique Gillespie Lee Speed Robert Shearer Beardsley

    Worst Newcastle XI?

Fair play to you for singularly helping that memory to live on, given that he never played for Portsmouth.

    Worst Newcastle XI?

I remember asking him to sign my shirt once, he took off and gave me his shin pads and signed them, too. For that reason I think he gets a pass.
  7. Bit random but I've just caught up on the last couple of MotDs. Phil Jagielka starting for England ffs. He's barely good enough for Everton.

    SackPardew.com

Brilliant site. Well done to all involved.
  9. Not for the last 18 months or so he hasn't. Far too many of the goals conceded - while involving other defensive errors - are partially down to bad keeping.

    Worst Newcastle XI?

This back 4 (along with Ramage, Taylor & Moore, and managed by Souness & Roeder) conceded 42 league goals in 05-06. Last season we conceded 59 & the one before 68. Not to mention the fact the most solid I've seen our defence was 03-04 with Woodgate and Bramble.

    Peter Beardsley

He's said plenty to be fair.

    Peter Beardsley

He's a very decent bloke, Beardsley. I hate his defence of Ashley but outside of his connection to the club he's a good guy.
  13. Like Coloccini added it, you mean? I am not sure how the inability of one player to improve a particular attribute means that no other player can do so. Exactly had a little chuckle at that. Naturally small, weak CBs rarely succeed in the PL. You can add a bit of token muscle but it isn't going to help you much in the long run. Look how S.Taylor adding muscle helped him, not one bit.
  14. Where does he mention long ball merchants? How the fuck would that affect a CB anyway?
  15. Not all his fault, of course, but he's pissed his talent away to an extent, no doubt.
  16. Exactly, load of bullshit. Pardew first before owt else, anyway.
  17. Nah, can't do it, man. Firstly because I promised myself and also because I don't trust myself around anyone voicing support for the man.
  18. There's not a chance he'll keep his job if there's a strong possibility of us going down come November or so. The fans will make his position absolutely untenable.
  19. The "British based" is true though, regardless of nationality. No club - and especially one with our non-existent spine and total lack of leadership - can afford to base transfer strategy around players with no experience of the most unique and arguably athletically demanding league in the world.
  20. Bruce is a nice guy and a decent manager. He's got time to improve, too.
