He hasn’t been a capable footballer at the level required for quite some time. I get that Howe likes him, but I can’t look past his listless performances from 2018 to 2021 while occasionally putting in a spirited defence of Mike Ashley. I wish him absolutely no ill will but let’s not pretend he’s been this great servant to the club.

Our points total so far equates to 69 over a full 38 games; 2 points less than last season. It’s actually reasonably impressive given the tough start, but unfortunately 3 key teams had better summer windows than us and have really cracked on. We will need 75 points to make top 4.

100%. I dislocated my shoulder in April and it took 3 months for me to be able to exercise and even 7 months later it’s not 100%. Couldn’t believe what I was seeing when he came on tonight.

Multiple good games this season isn’t the wildest endorsement I’ve ever heard. He’s been decent defensively overall but clearly can’t contribute consistently going forward, which in today’s game is half a full back’s job.
