I’m not defending it but it’s long way back for Eddie if we lose to them. Injuries mitigate but failing in 4 competitions and the season being over by January is tough to defend. We spent a lot of money in the summer to go so far backwards.

There no way he’s evidenced he’s an elite coach. I love Eddie but that’s basically an absurd thing to say. He has shown himself to have a lot of potential, a very fine man manager who consistently improves players and a fantastic ambassador for the club - and pretty much exactly what we needed this past 2 years. Fucking hell what is with all these daft rumours today? Like Trippier people need to find reasons for errors beyond the person in question simply being fallible. Eddie Howe’s personal life is to blame for us not being able to string 3 passes together away from home.

At the peak of his ability he was sold by Bournemouth to us in the Championship. He’s also spent the last 2 1/2 years warming our bench because no club has ever shown any interest and he’s seemingly happy collecting a wage. I’ve no idea what this ‘influence’ is but we don’t need any of our players learning from his example if we want anything approaching a winning mentality.

I think Trippier’s a lot mentally stronger than to let one of our pissed up daft words away at Bournemouth effect him 6 weeks later.

Problem is, you drop Trippier you’re taking away our most creative player by far. Don’t let 3 goals against 10 man Fulham fool you; everything goes through him. It’s something that needs addressing in midfield and out wide and I have a reasonable amount of confidence Eddie knows that. But until we spend money he absolutely has to play unless he’s totally fucked.
