  1. 100%. I’ve barely heard anyone from here say anything negative about him personally.
  2. You’re not seriously suggesting the Man U fans / club have given him a rough ride? They’ve actually been very restrained in their criticism by and large and let’s be honest, he’s spent far too much money for them to be consistently such a mess every week.
  3. Good home performance. As others have said Tonali really shone in patches.
  4. I love Eddie, not disputing he’s a workaholic but the set pieces are a joke and we’re way behind the clubs who actually use a specialist for them. We can’t just keep ignoring it and hoping it gets better when there’s very little to suggest it will without massive change.
  5. Ropey? It was pretty much unanimous across the board we needed to start this season very well. We’ve been mostly an awful disorganised mess and you know it.
  6. The set pieces have been tragic for a long time, I’ve said this for months.
  7. Tindall clearly doesn’t have a clue, man. Lower league wind up merchant, not someone who should be remotely responsible for anything tactical.

    Harvey Barnes

Yeah. Very fine finisher but absolutely not what we needed to spend £40m on given his massive limitations as a winger.
  9. Isak has been playing injured / out of sharpness most of the season. Can see he’s fed up with the club - see Bruno also. The fact Callum Wilson is our backup is on the manger and above. Isak and Gordon scored 37 goals between them (I think) last season. There’s too much responsibility on them stemming from the fact there’s absolutely nothing coming from the RW (failure to address) and we refuse to play with a midfielder capable of scoring them coming from deep. You cannot just absolve the manger - this is his team.
  10. We’re 12th with 2 games coming up that we realistically aren’t getting much if anything from. You can make all the excuses you want but football is about results and it demonstrably isn’t working. Every issue we have can be directly traced for a failure to address both problem positions and an evolved way of playing.
  11. Tragic. Another thing they either won’t address or can’t address.
  12. Your loyalty is great but realistically there’s basically nothing to suggest he’s the coach to build a team who can play a more possession based style of football needed to kill games away from home especially and create chances without man for man pressing high up the pitch.
  13. When we’re 14th / 15th in a few weeks do you really think HE is going to accept better performances as mitigation? I feel for Eddie a bit but all my instincts say this is only going one way now.
  14. Like what, sign a new RW and midfielder to link the play with his own money? Calm down, Rio.
  15. Like there’s even a Tonali versus Longstaff debate man. Tonali is literally one of Italy’s best players. Longstaff is Longstaff. The radgies and lazy media like him, granted.
  16. They’ve got a top, top manager who will figure it out.
  17. Not necessarily. Not saying I want it to happen because replacing him with better while keeping the squad onside would be a challenge, but there are undeniably far more accomplished managers out there. It will have to happen one day.
  18. I think you’ve misconstrued. He did a phenomenal job but let’s not pretend he built a side that didn’t have the same deficiencies as ours does now - on a totally different scale obviously because of the respective budgets and ambitions. The implication was it’s surprising we’re often so poor on the ball because at Bournemouth his side (in context) excelled at that. That’s what I disagree with. And on that note I really don’t think at this point the job he did at Bournemouth can be used favourably in any discussion about the future. We know the great job he did wasn’t a fluke and in 3 years we’ve seen how and why he managed to accomplish all he did there. At this point we need him to show capabilities he’s never shown before.

Forest Gump was rapid. Let’s not rewrite history.
  20. We haven’t made any effort to replace Almiron / Murphy, Dubravka as number 2. Callum as second choice striker.
  21. They really weren’t mind. And they went down.
  22. Loyalty to shit players, the set piece coach, Dubravka as number 2 despite fucking off to Man U and throwing them in for most of last season. There’s a real loser’s mentality about it. I get the cultivation of togetherness but that clearly isn’t working any longer.
  23. If we finish 7th again the ‘project’ has failed hasn’t it? We’ll see players leave and will basically require a rebuild.
