Did you actually watch the game? They had one of the worst midfield combinations that Liverpool have put out in years and we didn't try and press them, harry them, try and actually pass the ball between them, we just let them have the ball and do what the hell they wanted with it and every time we got it, we panicked and kicked it long straight back to them. Against the top teams that is the game that bucks the trend though, we've played well against Man Utd, City and Chelsea and did pressure them. If we'd played like we did at Old Trafford at Anfield we'd have beaten them. How long is this nonsense about Chelsea still being a top team going to be peddled?

We're 3 decent players away from securing 7th place. We can get 3 decent players for what Samba would cost.

Completely and utterly misunderstood what I was trying to say. The quotes are posted on N-O for a reason - they're either unusual or they serve an agenda. They don't really represent an accurate cross-section of his media quotes.

Hearing from who, though? The Chronicle/Journal stuff from Pardew that filters thorugh to here is rarely going to be level-headed analysis. It's posted for a reason.

Does it matter at all what they say to journalists? They get asked ridiculous, repetitive, soundbite-thirsty questions and usually give the first or second answer that comes to mind. We've had managers that've called Nicky Butt a 'fabulous player' and Jenas 'the best midfielder of his age in Europe' in the local filth. None of it matters, man. It's meaningless garbage. They get interviewed just about every day and are bound to occasionally come out with some incoherent and completely incorrect nonsense. It only matter when Pardew says it, of course.
