Does it matter at all what they say to journalists? They get asked ridiculous, repetitive, soundbite-thirsty questions and usually give the first or second answer that comes to mind. We've had managers that've called Nicky Butt a 'fabulous player' and Jenas 'the best midfielder of his age in Europe' in the local filth. None of it matters, man. It's meaningless garbage. They get interviewed just about every day and are bound to occasionally come out with some incoherent and completely incorrect nonsense. It only matter when Pardew says it, of course.

Did you not read what I posted? They had the best defence in the league under Ancelotti last season, and the season before that. They finished 1st and 2nd under Carlo. They'll be lucky to finish 5th under this joker.

Thing is, this is the same Chelsea who had the best defence in the league 2 seasons running under Ancelotti. Suddenly they can't stop conceding with basically the same personnel. Been going gradually downhill for the last year or so.....and some people on here rate him higher than Gerrard. Personally, I think Gerrard is and always has been a class above Lumplard. Wow. Lumplard. Chelsea are finished as a top team, as I said after our pathetic performance against them. They won't finish in the top 4. Lumplard suits him these days. Of course they are. We played awful stuff against awful teams on an almost regular basis under Hughton. You could just address me directly I said at least twice he had his faults and very specifically that he was inferior to Pardew when it comes to getting results against lesser teams. I agree with you on that and so does every one else. You cannot deny though, the team we had played their damndest under Hughton. That 4-4 came from the players, under Hughton's management rather than tactics, and his management of the players was brilliant. Got Liverpool to pay 35m for a confidence player too Why can't we get a motivator and a tactician? Always something amiss at this club. If only Calderwood was any use they might have done even better. What a load of tosh.
