If we want to compete high up then the likes of Longstaff are surplus to requirements in the summer - doesn’t cut it

LM or LWF - technically he’s very good - really tidy footballer - so much going for him if he stays clear of injuries - him and Miley have been 2 class promotions from the Academy If we are desperate he can be makeshift forward

His game is very similar to Messi when he was on the RW - I mean Leo is, Leo, but the approach is very similar - he has an eye for a pass and for a little guy packs some power in his shots - seems really intelligent in his play

I haven’t looked at his injury record but him and Olise seem very prone to muscular injuries - won’t suit our press

Ederson is a cross between Bruno, Joelinton and Willock, essentially what Longstaff should be. He’s strong, quick, not afraid to put a tackle in, canny passer and has an eye for a goal - the final piece in our midfield jigsaw, you replace Longstaff with him then you have a strong 5 in Tonali, Bruno, Joe, Joe and Ederson with Anderson and Miley developing nicely in the background - ai really do hope we sign him

Very late in the game Bruno spun and passed it to him, expecting a quick 1-2 - he (Longstaff passed it back) - could see Bruno getting frustrated with him

I would buy a RW and have him compete with Gordon (Murphy) and loan Minteh for another year If Howe persists with the 3 then I think we are better served with either Barnes, Joes and Anderson competing for the left sided slots - I think 2 out and out wingers leaves the midfield exposed

The guy is a brilliant pro - works his socks off week in week out. If our ambition is to somewhat solidify ourselves within the top 6 then players such as Longstaff, Miggy and Wilson eventually need replacing - it’s the brutal reality of being a club with ambition to aim high - players like these unless they improve to that level get left behind and can longer provide output at the level required If during the summer Howe doesn’t see this and the status quo remains as is, he won’t last beyond autumn.
