Wow

I've long defended Southgate as a person and for what he's achieved culturally for England, and that's not changed - still think the pure hatred he gets is grim and not acceptable. Managerially or tactically there's no defending that though. So late with the subs, crying out for changes that everyone else could see needed to be made. Look to have no attacking plan whatsoever. Bailed out by luck falling our way at the very end. Just so disappointing. A far cry from how we played in Qatar where at least we looked like there was some degree of cohesion. One tournament too far for Southgate, has to go now even if we somehow fluke our way to the final

Love that we're super defensive again now. This can't go wrong
-
Ahahaha fuck right off man
-
Maybe Gordon will get some minutes
-
Ahahaha fuck off

Glad Anthony has had a restful summer. This has been absolute aids

Insanity

Kane

No-one even warming up, indefensible

How the fuck are we looking at this and thinking that nothing needs to change
-
What the fuck has Gordon done to Southgate
-
Still no changes. Embarrassing
-
Off, of course
-
Thank fuck for that

Even the Irishman is furious

That would be a great set of subs tbh. Kane has been terrible
-
If we wait until the 70th for changes like normal we're absolutely doomed. At least one for Gordon and Palmer have to come on at half time. If they don't then we might as well just pack it in now
-
Fuck me this has been dire.
-
God we're so bad
-
Frustrating. Hopefully Mainoo's energy will make some amount of difference but I feel like that left side is still going to be fairly ineffectual. If we're not winning by the 60th minute then a Palmer / Gordon double sub has to be the move (assuming nothing drastic has happened elsewhere in the game)

I kind of love that we're just saying fuck it and bending the rules, as the rules are wank.

I'm sorry thirty-five million pounds? How on earth have we managed that. I wish he was staying all things being equal but that fee is incredible
-
So if we were around £40m short and spending is spread over 5 years, does that mean we effectively would've had to have spent £200m less to avoid this without any sales? I may be wildly misunderstanding as that seems insane If so though, I'm not sure what those complaining we've made mistakes or panic-sold expect? Like even taking Barnes out of the equation (an argument I disagree with as I think he'll prove a great signing in the long term) - who else of the £160m-odd left are we not buying in this perfect scenario where everyone has complete foresight and every penny is spent for maximum gain? We not signing Isak? Gordon? Hell even Tonali as well still doesn't get us half way.

Sad about this one, always felt like it didn't quite click for him but there was potential there. Necessary due to the shit rules, but sad. Especially because he never scored for us - deserved it after the goal against Forest was disallowed a couple seasons back.
