Shearer possibly learnt a bit from Sir Bobby? I imagine he picked up a few things at least. Personally I think Shearer would be the one we need at the moment, someone that can get us fighting and someone with the spine to make the tough decisions. I would like him here, although I admit it is a bit of a risk.

Barton Captain next game? He said leader, not psychopath. Barton could be great for us just as a player, but he is not the leader we need. Who of our players is going to look up him?

Presactly. Intelligent play... 20/20 hindsight. Fact is he would have been more likely to score from being in on goal than from that freekick. I know, it was the right thing to do. Just makes it all the more frustating. Agreed, horrible to stomach.
