  2. Im picking mostly Portoguese, German, Spanish and Italian players .. with a sprinkle of Czech just to make up the numbers.
  3. tmonkey's analysis was bloody awful overall, but that particular observation was pretty dead-on. not quite, as Colo is okay when we keep a high line and there's enough space in behind for him to catch up. he's usually got the ability, nous, strength and top speed to shepherd the attacker towards the flanks and enable us to wait for reinforcements. he's also damned good running back to cover for other people's mistakes and putting in last ditch tackles so it's wrong to say he has no ability to recover. it's more that he's not agile enough to change directions quickly or accelerate powerfully over shorter distances and that causes probs. Apologies for being a pedant, but the one thing I felt colo truly struggled against last season was pace. Re-watch the WBA home game for example, Long and Odemwingie tore colo a new one. We 100% need a quick centre half Colo was not 100% fit for this game and was carrying a thigh strain, that would be why it looked like he was exposed for lack of pace.
  4. England have done alot better than I thought, which to me is all down to Hodgson. He has the team united and playing for eachother. Gerrard has been a revelation since given the captaincy.
  5. Mexes is horrendous .. France are lucky he is suspended for the quaters.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

 Thought he did well to be honest. Its more the way that France plays that makes it almost impossible for them to score. There is absolutely no presence up front to hold up the ball. Players like Hatem and Nasri are the ones making a run in behind the defence, while Benzema drops too deep or too wide. Its too predictable and easy to defend against. Giroud needs to start for sure.
  7. you can actually see it in the way they played!
  8. Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish says England should just give Manchester United star Wayne Rooney the ball tonight against Ukraine. Dalglish told the Mirror: "I remember being in Lisbon, watching him play for England against France as an 18-year-old at Euro 2004. "He was up against William Gallas, who at that time was one of the best defenders in the game. "Well, by the time Rooney had finished with him, Gallas didn't know whether it was New Year or New York. "He was absolutely fantastic. "Against Ukraine in Donetsk, England just have to give him the ball. "Give him the ball and on you go." King Cock Head just does not help himself with these comments. I doubt Mourinho would instruct such basic tactics. So out of his depth last season, it isnt funny. Oh wait ... its fucking halarious!
  9. Hodgson's commitment to rigidity and defense seems to have paid off thus far. Look at how well the best attacking side in the tournament (Dutch) fared by neglecting their defense. They played De Jong and Van Bommel as defensive barriers .. which was a big mistake in my opinion.
  10. Bit harsh, hes a decent player. No worse or better than that.
  11. Bet if they get him he will score against us. naturally Reading showing a bit of intention in these early moves Good moves by them. Heard they are after Rukavytsya of Hertha Berlin as well. Decent enough player.
  12. A great defender doesnt need alot of pace. Im not saying that we sign a slow as fuck defender. If a defender can read the game and have good positioning, theres no need for outstanding pace.
  13. For real? Brilliant player, mind, but can't see him leaving Spain due to the aforementioned anxiety issues. Yeh they had a 40 page thread on how they should be after him... delusional or what?
  14. Don't know him, he is RB primarily? Preferred over Debuchy? Centre-back, Belgian, Right Footed, Indredibly comfortable in posession, 23 years old, Also pretty strong in the tackle and a good header of the ball. But is he fast? Colo, Willy and S.Taylor are too slow.. Not particularly speedy, but not slow.

  16. Think Alderweireld would be perfect for us.
  17. The mackems will be happy Jesus Navas scored, since hes a target for them and all........
  18. hahaha Sewelly on form tonight/today
  19. Hopefully Simpson is let go of pretty soon, so we can push this one through
  20. Add a good CB, keep our key players and get ready for CL 2013. +1 Yup.. maybe barnetta on a free as well .. just to be a greedy cunt.
  21. Dont post his shit on here .. supposedly Debuchy signing was to be announced 6 weeks ago.
  22. They want 15 mill pounds not euros
  23. So thats around 12 million quid. No way we will give them that much. Wouldnt see us going over ten for him. It's £15m sorry, although they said there could be some negociation. It was in the transfers bit just before paper review. It will only go through if De Jong starts to kick off about a move, otherwise i cant see it happening.

  25. Not so much about strength, but how you use your body to position yourself. Players like Ben Arfa and Modric are not the most muscular players, but you never see them outmuscled for the ball.
