I think people are having unrealistic expectations of HBA. The lad has been out for a year with a carrer-threatening leg break. Give him time to re-adjust to the pace of the premier league and to get his match sharpness back. When this happens he is going to be incredibly valuable to the performance of our team. If Obertan had come on off the bench and made the impact Ben Arfa made against Spurs, people would be singing his praises undoubtedly.
  3. How old is he.. wikipedia says he is 24? he says hes 25? time to check fm.

Its strange that Pardew is reluctant to use Marveaux.. perhaps he doesnt perform well on the training pitch.. because every time ive seen him play he has oozed class.

to be fair it was hisd direct running at defenders that lead to sholas goal. we started playing alot beter football with hmi on the park aswell. He is jsut lacking in match sharpness, which will come back.
  9. we are dominating here.. a good half time team talk and some good substitutions and we can DO THIS!
  10. Friend of mine in Berlin claims we have representatives keeping an eye on young striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga.
  11. Bale vs Simpson ... Can see Bale easily coming out on top Coloccini v Adebayor.. Hard Battle.. Coloccini can compete technically but perhaps not physically Saylor v Defoe ... I think Saylor can dominate Defoe both physically and airially Raylor v Van der Vaart... I dont think Raylor will have too many problems with Vdv, however vdv will drift inside which is where he will punish us Gutierrez v Walker ... I think that Gutierrez engine may be too much for Walker resisting his drive forward Obertan v Assou-Ekotto ... Obertan may have the advantage here and could beg pack Ekotto with his pace striking fear into the Spurs man Cabaye v Parker ... Cabaye has more mobility and more technique.. however Parker plays the holding wall quite well.. I think Cabaye can come out on top in this battle Tiote v Modric .. Possibly the best playmaking centre midfielder up against the best defensive midfielder in the league.. If Tiote can stop Modric we are in with a big chance. Best v King ... King lacks mobility however reads the game brilliantly and is a beast physically... has the potential to take Best out of the game.. Ba v Kaboul ... Two pacey player, both good in the air and both physically strong, Kaboul however is prone to the odd mistake that Ba could pounce on. Big advantage that we have two technically gifted strikers who can alternate to help out the battle in the midfield. I think that Cabaye and Tiote will e doing alot of work helping out the fullbacks, so this is important. With confidence high at the moment. Im going for a 2-1 Newcastle win. With Spurs lack of width being there main downfall.
  12. cut out the parts which deal with the 'level of ambition' or whether or not we've brought enough enough of the right kind of players - on reflection, I think I was trying to highlight how we're now managing to hit with the majority of our transfers (very few reds, mostly amber/green). Could even look at other Premiership clubs over a similar period and see how successful they have/haven't been - I don't have the info to hand but my hunch is that several of our competitors are still bringing in talented but unsuitable players along with "name" players who don't bring the improvement in performance that their wages and transfer fee suggest. You cut out the bits that you didn't agree with. I started to quote a few of the arrogant, patronising quotes you've made in your "own thread" and couldn't be arsed anymore, there were too many and I got bored. It's almost as if you've become over-excited at the only decent post you've made in 2 years and reacted to every reply like a know-it-all egomaniac, it's a real shock.
  13. i dont. you deserve a little more respect

Must spend more time golfing, than working on his general footballing ability.

  16. It'll be a close one. Quality side Germany. Everything they have done over the past 5 years has been spot on. Developing youth through the national team, appointing a coach who served his apprenticeship in the system. The Bundesliga is reaping the rewards of a well organised federation with good crowds, attacking football and an evenly matched league.
  17. Can we work out what percentages of transfers we perceive are good (green), average(orange) and bad(red), before and after the new transfer plan.
  18. bit harsh semtex, as newcastle fans we should be united, not pull eachother down.
  19. Crackin' riposte then Thanks Stu
  20. Hoilett is showing good promise, though would he be much different to Obertan. While I agree Pieters would be ideal for the left back position.
