i was having a few beers with a Man U season ticket holder (also goes to all away games) when i was away on holiday a few weeks ago. Gave me an interesting view on some players, Richardson - Average player, very much a bling boy. Not good enough to play for Man U. Laughing at the £5 Million they got for him. Fletcher - Tounge in cheek call him "Fergies Son". Not quite sure how he gets a game. Again very average player. Poor passer of the ball. Does nout. Smith - Big fan favorite. Sad to see him go. Works his bollocks off (as we know) O'Shea - Best of the lot overall. Can pass the ball, tackle, play in different positions. Just thought that was interesting coming from someone who watches them week in week out.

He's not an out and out striker. He will more likely play in midfield most of the time. He will give a lot more than Dyer did, and if you put him and Dyer 1 on 1 with the keeper, id choose Smith to score any day of the week. hasnt got the pace of Dyer, but lets face it, apart from the first 2 games back from injury last season, Dyer was bollocks. Not a huge fan of Smith, but glad to see the back of Dyer. Smith has premiership and Champions league experience, still young, and will be very hungry to prove his worth. Could do worse...

Their view on Bramble, which I share was that there was no sense of "clean slate" from Allardyce - the decision was taken (ie no change to release) pretty quickly by Sam. They also followed up with some jibes about Bramble which were also fair enough reflecting his Jekyll and Hyde nature. I certainly think he deserved more of a fresh chance than Luque. The problem with Dyer is the number of times we've heard the same crap - and all at a ludicrous wage. i cant believe you are saying Bramble deserved a "clean slate". At times it was a discace to see him in the shirt. He had more than enough "clean slates" imo. I was seriously considering not re-newing my ticket if we had have given him another contract!
