We really have to come close to winning this one with those two teams to be fair. Faye and Smith will rattle that midfield. Hope its 4-4-2 mind. If you play Smith in the midde, ,it at least has to be in a 4-4-2/. -
canny against Wigan and Germany too he didnt score against Germany??/ That's the point. It's all pointless anyway, we know Owen is a very good finisher. But the point is that so is Huntelaar. He's also not a crock and has the potential to develop into a much better all-round player. Type of player who can play alongside anyone really, very well rounded. Would be a fabulous signing. lol, but he did score against Wigan?? anyway, an argument as to who would you rather have is a different subject. But just straight up finishing, you simply cant dismiss Owen that quickly. That was all i was saying.

You didnt really hesiate when you said he was better than Owen at finishing? Did you see his goals for England the other week?

really need our experienced players to stand up tonight. Butt, Geremi, Beye, Smith, Rozenal. These need to really put the frightners up the kids and not give them a second, or i think we will be passed off the park, even by there kids. But if our big players can shake them up a bit, and Martins get some good service, then i hope we can give them a game. btw, any highlights on tonight? -
aye exactly. If any one watched the bloke on SSN he said Hernia's arent related to any other injuries, they are just rotten luck - to use his words. Just a horrible time for him to get it when he has just returned. Thats life i suppose. Cant really blame Owen though.

Allardyce simply isn't brave enough and is too obsessed with his platform.

aye, ive been reading the comments in total astonishment. I dont know if some of the people who say these things are kids, tards or have just not watched the last 3 years of Newcastle United? -
You see, this is why we'll eventually get there under Big Sam...

bringing Enrique on way the single best thing we done in the match. It allowed Zoggy to get back on the left wing and run at there right back. It allowed Milner to get on the right where he is at his best. And also Smith looked so much happier up top too. And of course, a natural left back too. Long may it continue. -

dontthink we needed ariel power. just needed balance. Got that when erique came on. You don't think Ashton winning every single header was important? Ashton as an idividual is a good player ,however, Cole off him was barley a threat. I dont think there was any need to go more defensive, infact i was dissapointed when he dropped Smith back into midfield for the last 10. -

for what reason does Owen deserve tha abuse? -
no doubt anymore. Youd rather have Owen one on one, but for shear pace and effectiveness, you must play him. Looked a hell of a lot more dangereous than Owen when he came on.

This board just amazes me sometimes. Zoggy, playing at ful back while our £ 6 mil left bak is injured, does a canny job, sets up 2 and scores the other, done some very good defensive work, and then a thread is made about him saying he shouldnt be playing at left back!!!!!! Of course he shouldnt you plank! Its coz there is no one else! But he's done a decent job for a left winger! Bloody hell, i cant believe some of the stuff i read on here!
-
agreed. Bizzare decision. Must be a reason behind it though...
-
theres now way Smith is getting dropped any time soon.
-
Did you watch the game? Smith and Gremi prob had their best games for us. Esescially Smith. The team as a whole performed much better 2nd half, and a soon as Enrique went to left back i always fancied us to get the 3rd. Smith seemed to revel up front, albet it was for oly 10 minutes.
-
looked very composed, knew exactly what he was doing. Lackin a bit of fitness, which is understandable, but overall great full debut. Back 4 looking very promising.
-
i wish Gullit would get over it. Bloody hell man, you left 7 years ago! and its amazing after 2 good games for England, people are now, "ooh aye, id take Heskey like, stronger and faster than Vid and Shola" :cheesy:
-
yeah, defo put him there. Never mind, Butt, Geremi, Smith, Faye and Zoggy. Why not?
-
however tanked Bolton away, dominated the Wigan game and should have won the Smog game too. Come on man, get a grip. Its a brand new team with loads of new players. Things dont happen over nnight, no matter how short sighted you are.
-
i think everyone over reacted after the Derby game anyway to be honest. Anyone thinking we would go down to a team already fighting for its life and walk all over them were mistaken. We've played 5 games under the new regime, in which we were unbeaten in 4. Did people forget the last 2 years and a half years? What did people expect? ecome a top 6 team overnight? Dont think so. So it didnt actually take me long to stay positive and look forward to Sundays game.

Look out! little mickey's back just in time for England! Will he return fit?
