So am i right in thinking that if Owen went on to play, what, 30 games in a row for us, scored 20 goals people would still want him out because they think he doesnt want to be here? -
Nobody? You're wrong there, like. Really?? Want more examples?
-
hahahahaah when we were linked with him in the Souness era, i remember reading on here how no one wanted him, waste of space etc some people on this board are so predictable.
-
very true. i cant see any of our current regular reserve players making it in the the first team. at least half of them are terrible. well, we still have a couple of pretty good ones Donninger? Carroll but the loan to PNE has not worked out goal wise at least. Krul Then who? Any of this lot: http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v104/122/85/673158145/n673158145_99555_8345.jpg ha ha i really dont like Matty Pattison. (i refrained from the word hate). Bloody pink shirts!
-
wtf? how is that even possible?
-
will this go on how many away games you have been too or how long you have had season ticket etc
-
exactly. People have wayyy to short a memory.
-
not sure, its a tough one. I think a creative CM is what most people would say, but with Emre and Barton fit, competition is going to be fierce. Maybe IF Deco became available, then yeah, you couldnt turn that down. Not sure bout Right wing, Milner can nail that spot and like you say Geremi can also play there. Its gonna be a tough one.
-
i think it has to be Bent for the transfer fee alone. Anderson was injured early on i believe and is just starting to get in the team. Smith has shown he can compete for a place up front, where he really wants to play. Parker/Dyer both potentially horror buys, more so Dyer though. A handful of the Mackem buys could be up there. Halford, Kenwen Jones, Richardson - all big money for average players.
-
Mistake yesterday, but i can see why it was made. It wasnt an out an out horror error and thankfully didnt cost us. Still a great keeper, and still the best one we have. As valued as he once was? Maybe no, but still a class act.
-
Hate to admit it but u are quite right. Hang on, so your trying to say that every manager that has been here, that had the choice between Shay and Harper chose Shay for what reason?! apart from that one litle spell under Guillit i believe. Harper has just been in great form, no doubt, so for Big Sam to then go put Shay back in, doesnt that tell you something. All this, and the fact that Harper is one of the most frustrating Keepers ive ever seen. There is no need for a kepper to take so long to distribute the ball when its 0-0 or 1-0 down!
-
so why has Given been hailed as one of the best keepers in the league for years and linked with the biggests clubs in the league while Harper has sat on the bench for 10 years?

He couldnt light up st.james if he tried worst £5million we have spent, hes just as bad as owen for getting injured and the sooner we get rid the better Hows that exactly? Are you referring to the year and a half he has spent with us, where has has been injured and playing under terrible managers? Or are you talking about the rest of his career where he has won championship medals and wasonce one of the best left wingers in Europe and costs £17 million pound? Just wondering. Chelsea championship medal...best squad in europe at the time not including him cost £17mil after blackburn because he was excellent been s*** since he joined the cockny wankers ha ha, not including him?! Do you actually watch football? Did you actually see Duff terrorise defences when he was at Chelsea? Him on one side Robben on the other? He was a class act. Just as he was at Blackburn too. He's had a hard time here, like a lot of players seem to have. But there have still been glimses of what he can do. Let him play a full season un-injured, under Sam and judge then.

football was a lot different then too. Great achievment, but if its trying to undermine Jose, then he's wrong. jose is a class manager, and like said earlier will go on to suceed again and again.
-
Doubt it. But if we did, would we still strive for the success "we deserve"?
-
This season? Top 8 would be a great start. I think its realistic and mos (not everyone) would be happy. After that, just to progress. Sam really has to be given a few years. We need to change the mentallity of this club of stop bloody changing maagers every year and a half.
-
fairly nailed on tbh
-
to be honest im delighted that our back line is looking solid, as is everyone. If that means having a season that isnt exciting, but finishing up the league, ill take that all day.
-
You had better take to watching another sport then. He was a very important player when we finished 3,4,5. Better than we have at present sadly. He had a couple of good seasons that helped us. Certainly werent a one man team. Robert, Nobby, Shearer, Bellas were just as impotant. Much rather have Smith than Dyer. Better person, harder worker, and not likely to burn £50 notes in my face while laughing.
-
Good read actually. Ive never had a problem with the bloke. The bit about Owen was fair enough. I wouldnt say its wrong to say England are relying on Owen more than us.
-
yeah bu i think we are talking about players we just signed.
-
what would you rather have?

this forum is fantasic. Lose a game - Big Sams tacics are useless, whats he playing at? We're not bloody Bolton you know! Win a game - Aye, i knew it. Just had to give him time. Rome wasnt built in a day. I knew he'd get it right. We can finish above Arsenal now!
