I'm not arsed about challenging Man City if i'm honest, I just want a bit of pride back in my club. Staying up this season and aiming to keep as many of our best players as we can is our current objective. Then we can see about this 75m. There are lots of people saying things like that these days. Genuine, simple, ambition, is a thing of the past. It simply never occurs to most of our 'brow-beaten' fans these days. Survival, is about the 'highest' ambition (if you could call it that) that most people seem to have these days, and who can blame them after years of failure and the recent turmoil. yep. i think finally the expectations levels have dropped. All i want is a bit of hope. If new owners bring that, then great. Lets start all over again... again.

this is actually a really depressing thread, simply because its so true. Football has sold its soul to the Devil, and it'll neve get it back. Im not sick of football because we're crap, because even back in the Daglish, Guillit even Souness era's, i always had hope that the next gaffer to come in will change things and get us back where we belong. But now, because of whats happened with all these new owners, that hope has gone. Its kind of like, whats the point anymore?! As mee mate on here Eggybread said when KK left, he wasnt actually that bothered because we simply dont have the resources to compete with the "top 5" as it is now, anyways. so yeah sometimes i do wish i didnt love football/newcastle as much as i do. But then i think of spending a Saturday afternoon trawling round Northumberland street with the wife and comparing it to being at Central having a few beers and there really is no comparision!

Very little chance of that happening, considering Ashley already said he won't subsidise us anymore. if the next couple of results dont go well, he will have to put someone in. I think it will be a temp manager, but someone needs to go in who knows the ropes. I think on a temp basis O dreary wouldnt be a total nightmare.

i dont think he wants to be in the position he's in tbh He's not a manager, he's a coach. If we get a few bad results he'll start getting undeserved stick too. A manager needs to be put in place now before things get very messy.

I think he may have just missed a chance on goal, so he is clutching his hands on top of his head to show his dissapointment and frustration at not putting Newcastle United in front against a team they should really be beating. His eyes are closed as maybe this shows he cant bear to look at the crowd. His mouth is open as he lets out his frustration in a kind of "arghghr" noise. I might be wrong though.
