Loads of snow now in Edinburgh after lots of fall tonight/now. Concerned I won't get down, and if it's like this here, is it snowing in already very snowey toon?

Dunno like, I'd maybe rather a mackem win. Safety still on my mind. Draw's alright though.

NEWCASTLE UNITED, WILL NEVER BE DEFEATED

If they do call it off, I hope they do before I get on my train from Edinburgh. And I hope it's called off if my train is cancelled.

I'd say what Coloccini did was definitely worse than Barton's punch. I'd much rather a punch to the stomach than elbow in the face. He was struggling and obviously got frustrated. Chance to look at CB pairings may be a blessing, given Willicinni's recent struggles.

GOAL: THE MOVIE BBC 1 2:40pm Today (Tuesday)/Best sports film ever?
Superior Acuña replied to a topic in Football
That's not actually what they say in the story is it? -
Taylor also always seems to chip in with a few goals. I don't think there's a big differenc between Taylor and Williamson, but say the former edges it, deserves chance now Willaimson's looking dodgey and colo out.

Understands the area.

People thinking they can laugh at and wind-up bolton fans with complete sicnerity when they're 4-1 up for one scuffed shot.

Report: Alan Smith to leave NUFC in January?
Superior Acuña replied to Thespence's topic in Football
Disagree tbh. Obviously not that gifted but given our squad size, def keep. He had a couple of decent games this season before Tiote came in (who's obviously better) and was no worse than everyone but Carroll today. -
Showing that the problem's not new, nufc.com report of mackem 2-1 defeat 10 years ago today

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
Superior Acuña replied to Pilko's topic in Football
I wonder what that's supposed to mean. I know, that seems like an inexplicable implied criticism. -
Standing definitely helps, but as you say it's only part of the issue. I started going to games in 95, by which time it was all-seated, and the atmosphere was way better. Expansion had a big role I think.

I agree Wullie. Having said that, I'm as much to blame. At away games I get right into things, but at home I just feel a bit awkward and embaressed to join in or start anything. Dont know what it is. It all feels a bit flat even if a song is going. The thing is though, away fans are always crap at St James too. We're way noisier when we go away than any fans to go to St James, so either we're just better or St James isn't conducive to a good atmosphere of any sort.

They much more than matched our win at Stamford Bridge. Seems we gave them a kick up the arse, would like to know their Bruce opinions now. This season really is mental

Makes our 5-1 more impressive.

What a nobhead.

Ferdinand couldn't hit a barn door when it really mattered either. Scored loads before christmas and hardly any afterwards. I prefer to accpe thtat man utd winning 16 out of their last 17 games meant we didn't lose it, they won it. I was looking at some stats side that looks at football. It basically says this. We didn't lose the title by being poor, we went through a patch like most title winning teams, manu just performed exceptionally well.

Can't really see how tackling someone can be compared to punching them. Don't really see why a deliberately dirty tackle is so much worse than a minor punch. The former is far more likely to cause injury.
-
He was stupid but I don't see why people's opinions of him would change. He's never changed, and never will, to being an angel on the pitch - it's keeping clean off the pitch that i'm worried about. I'll hardly be surprised if he gets sent off now and again for bad tackles and reactions. When people say "throwing a punch" I imagine a punch to the face, which is incomparable to what he did.

Obviously silly, but just saw it and was way tamer than I expected from the way people are going on. Sort of thing you do to your mate for a cheeky remark.
