Bargain It's no wonder we don't go british when thats what you pay for total dross. I would love to have a few british lads in there and it looks like we will sign in this country if the money is right (Bigi) but tbh the foreign lads are much better value and are blessed with technique most the time. I hope we can produce our own over next few years and the likes of Campbell, Tavernier, Streete all progress. It would be good to have them as the next generation I think - maybe also include Inman / Newton / Dummett coming through

Happy for him to play right, we have been missing someone there without Ben Arfa, would personally deploy Obertan/Marv on the left. Looking at the squad now there are options for how we play which is great. Potentially you could put Tiote and Sissokho in centre if we needed strength or a combination of one with Cabs and Anita or Marv in there. Could deploy 2 up front with Gouffran and Cisse or Gouffran out right. When Ben Arfa is back we could deploy him anywhere across also without much problems. Also having Debuchy and Mbiwa in defence should mean we can recover from attacks and be countered less whilst also giving support and confidence to those in front

Whats his positional and tactical sense like? - for example I think Cabs is very positionally and tactically astute and always seems aware of where he should be

Debuchy I was really excited about and now I have no fucking idea tbh, I guess MYM really to see what all the hype is about Im getting optimistic and think we may sign 2 more also after Sissokho - unlikely but I hope Very happy right now though that we have what we need to see this season through. I just hope these players gel and we can be a force in rest of the games. From sounds of it the athletic nature of MYM and Sissokho coupled with Gouffrans movement and what we already have in Santon, Colo, Debuchy, Cabs, Anita and Cisse we should be difficult to handle for most teams

Everything I've seen of Marveaux suggests that's a bit like saying Santon will start above Tiote in some games. Completely different positions. True, except people were listing Marveaux wide in a 4-3-3. IMO he's better in midfield. Very much so. He's no wide forward. I'd agree that he's looked better in CM, but it may just be a case that he'll have more of a chance of getting a game out wide than he does through the middle with how our squad is shaping up. Can he force his way into a CM role when he's got Cabaye, Tiote, Anita and Sissoko to compete with? Maybe, but it won't be easy. Our options out wide aren't great though, especially with Ben Arfa out at the minute. His competition basically boils down to Gouffran, Obertan, and Jonas at the minute. I'd have him ahead of Jonas or Obertan every time for sure. It's also worth noting that he hasn't exactly had a lot of opportunities in a wide role for us, and as far as I'm aware that was where he played most of his football in France. I'd be interested in seeing him get a game out on the left now that he seems properly fit again and is playing with some confidence. I think the best bet going forward would be the likes of Marveux/Cabaye/Anita interchanging during games, allowing us to be more fluid and confuse opposition. With the players we are starting to get it should provide more movement hopefully and hopefully with Gouffran drifting in from right with Cisse up top, Marv out left and Cabs in front of Sissokho and Anita. My god with the defence we look pretty fucking decent

Fair play to him tbh, never ever cared how much money we spent, more important to get the right quality and enough of it. The fact we have the scouting capability now is down to him and also he has sanctioned us to go after these players. For all the issues we have the club is being ran very well these days in the background

Think thats the thing, Remy may have more talent but if Gouffran has the better attitude and greater motivation he may end up being the better player in this league

The problem we have always had is getting them from there to the first team. Although to be fair to Pardew he has tried with loans for Tav / Inman and Dummett. That certainly changed when he came in and he has looked to push Sammy, Fergie etc on. Maybe the biggest problem is they need season long loans first, I just think we need to be doing more work at that under 18 / development level

Biggest problem is if we don't have time to replace him. Can't really blame the club for that, at least they have managed to get a Centre Half and right Back in so are clearly listening and trying to improve. Be horrible though if he does go and stuck with Williamson really

I thought the article was quite good. He is right about us not producing enough players and trying to develop. Our biggest problem appears to be not having a good structure throughout the club to develop players. Whether we have the right coaches also is debatable
