It was the same with Anderson, remember a lot of people saying he wouldn't make it etc. Happened so much over the years where we seem to beat down our own. I wasn't Longstaffs biggest fan by the end and thought he needed to move on so we could improve that area but wanted him to do well every time he played for us. Think people fail to realise with any professional footballer how good they have to be to even breakthrough and I think especially difficult here for a local player where not many do. He's 19, never let anyone down really when coming in the team, had a bad injury that halted his progress and needs minutes to grow his confidence and develop. He's clearly trusted with the ball by all our senior pros and will get plenty of games this year to develop. Needs to trust his own ability and take more risks as we see glimpses of his passing ability and maybe be more aggressive in his play but hopefully that will come.

Aye no doubt he's been great for us shot stopping, sweeping up but that side of his game really hurts our play. When Dubravka was in nets it was noticeable in how we played out.

He needs more players around him on same wavelength, he's fantastic and covers so much space with ease. Rarely puts a foot wrong, top top midfielder.

He so slow at getting us moving again as well. Needs to throw it out quicker but by time he moves it the other team regain their shape. His long kicks are atrocious, just straight or out of play

Unreal how good a signing he has been and so important last 3 years. Got better and better, never relied on pace anyway and hopefully can play a few more years, even around the squad he's incredibly important for us.

I get that we don't have Isak but think even he wouldn't score with how little we have created this season. We aren't attacking like we were at times even with same players/improved options. Aggression isn't there, need to get down the wings more and work openings. Just have to trust Eddie and the process I guess as he tries to get new players integrated and managed so many games.

With Gordon, Nick and Elanga we have the pace, hold up play and skill to hurt teams. Gordon and Elanga can press. Hopefully getting Ramsey and Wissa back really strengthens our gameplay but that could be a while so need to find ways to pull teams apart without them. Having Gordon back next week is good

So dysfunctional when in attack, defence solid and Nick playing well when he's getting ball but just not enough in creating chances. Run with ball, shit pass, defend again. Need to be quicker with our play and look for 1-2s and move into space, or build up and be a bit patient, we just make so many mistakes on the ball

I think it's worth remembering he's just turned 19 a few months back, had that injury that kept him out as well before last season. He will get plenty of game time this season with the schedule we have. I think he suits being deeper in that Tonali role more than on the right of it.
