It does look like the team is strengthened as a whole and that might benefit a few of the existing players. 2 new full backs, centre half, midfielder and striker have arguably been improved. Wilson slots back in and players we have signed further back could improve possession and recovery. From what I have seen of Targett he works hard and is tidy in possession, he's a decent signing for where we are, along with Burn and Trippier it gives our defence different dimension. Joelinton, Bruno and Shelvey/Willock looks more balanced and may help the other three on attack

Bruno as well is 6ft so must have been part of the strategy and maybe points towards focus on set pieces to get more goals?

He's pretty tall as well at 6ft, we have clearly tried to add some height in the team with adding Wood, Burn, the new Henry and Trippier has a leap on him. Clearly identified as a weakness but also players that mostly are comfortable on the ball

Sorting that midfield would change how we attack fundamentally. We are expecting ASM, Wood etc to feed on scraps. A good midfield would help control games more, regain possession and offer outlet further up the pitch for them

If they could only fill one position centre midfield would be it, legs and athleticism are sorely missed in there. Would like to see Lingard and another attacker but really need to create that solid base as well, centre defence, centre midfield and 1-2 attacking options.

I think it was always going to be difficult and new owners were always going to make some mistakes plus January and new money when we are in our position makes me think we will end up going down. There's a fair chance we go down this season as too much to unpick and a load of shit players, will need to rebuild and come back stronger which I think we will. I would be given Howe this season and into next no matter what league we are in. The squad is in a shocking state in terms of talent and capability. It's hard to take but the damage was done long before Howe took over and another relegation was always on the cards
