  1. I would be surprised if every player didn't improve to some degree now they are actually being coached and working on tactics. Obviously some players have limitations that can't be addressed but positioning and organisation should be possible
  2. He looks weird as fuck. Does look built.
  3. Let's just spend money on Will Hughes. Maybe we still have an interest in the Anderlecht winger or maybe some Spanish on horizon. We have now signed a lot of British players
  4. Mitrovic probably knocked Gayle out and took it
  5. You don't always need both full backs attacking. It's about balance and I think Rafa sees it like that. The players we have in front of full backs should make the difference attacking It's about the fact Dummett can hardly control a football tbh Not so bothered about attacking part personally, but having a solid LB who is comfortable on the ball would be great IMO. But like i said i do think what we have is enough to get through the division. Fairly confident if Dummet is terrible that we have enough cover that won't be. I would rather sign further up the pitch. We have signed 4 defenders already if include Hayden. Need wing / attacking options

  7. I think we are done at the back with Clark, Anita, Dummet, Gamez, Sterry and Haidara able to play or cover there I reckon Striker, Winger and maybe a centre mid. Tbh striker and winger and we have a very strong squad. A team of Sels Janmaat Mbemba Lascelles Dummet Colback Hayden Ritchie Diame Aarons Gayle Has power and pace about it. Obviously ginger jack wouldn't be my choice but is likely to play. Maybe Diame alongside Hayden with Perez in front or Shelvey in there and Anita covering right mid where needed. Perez or Gayle could slot out wide with Mitro centre as well. Another big centre forward could be good.
  8. On paper it just sounds a horrific defence
  9. I think if you gave me the choice I'd genuinely take Gayle. I prefer the pace of Gayle and will suit us but McCormack is prolific at this level and they will be a threat to us. The rest of their team is garbage mind so hoping that holds them back.
  10. He probably just wants options and bonus he can play multiple positions, absolutely no idea if he can play them well at this level. Nothing wrong with having 4 or 5 centre halves of course and he may be 5th in line so wouldn't be greatest and just for cover.
  11. Good enough at this level though? Competent defender ? Would be nice to have natural cover at the back. Can't say I have seen much of him and tbh thought left back, centre mid, attacking mid, striker and winger would be required for squad. I'm sure we will still sign a couple of attackers.
  12. We should also sign Knockaert and Forestieri just to weaken opponents
  13. In the championship probably not. We're going to be the big fish here so it's more likely the onus will be on us to break teams down who are sitting deep. I hope we're also looking to bring in someone with a bit of creativity in the middle. various people keep saying this but no-one really says what they mean or what type of player they are talking about, is a(nother) number 10 you're on about or a different type of CM? Different type of CM personally, although with this signing I doubt that happens now. such as? genuine question mind, i'm really at a loss to understand what people want that's different from say diame, shelvey & hayden for example will hughes or someone like that? Hughes would be a class signing next and final would give us a good mix in Midfield really. And they said Rafa wouldn't know this league, he seems to know exactly the type of player he needs to get out of it and understands balance
  14. Yes to this, what a good signing. Always liked the look of him
  15. We need a centre mid, left back and another striker as well as winger so could see only one of them coming in. We will get Knockaert I reckon
  16. Yeah you just know Rafa will find a sensible balanced solution to the issue that won't include playing extra defenders or putting players out of position

    Adam Armstrong

Adam Campbell was never the best striker in League One. Some people seem to go out of their way to talk down local players, as if it proves what a detached and rational fan they are. Armstrong scored 20 goals in League One at the age of 18 - it's just so clearly moronic to write someone off immediately following that. This, I couldn't care where he comes from I still wouldn't write a player off at that age. Not every player is a Rooney or a Shearer at that age and the fact he scored so many different types of goals at 18 shows there is something there. We have to try and develop our players and not just write them off. You only have to look at the league last season to see players at 25 or older that dropped to non-league because someone thought they weren't good enough. If by 22 he isn't a regular we should dump him but not at 19

he runs and chases but with very little purpose, and yes he can finish but needs a clear opening to do it Granted I haven't seen as much of him as you, but the goals of his I saw last season contradict that no, he can score at a level, 1st division level which is much slower, but remember he had a great run of goals then he went missing for a long period at Cov and couldn't score once he was sussed out That's like most strikers, they go on runs where they can't score and then they adjust / regain form.

    Adam Armstrong

ive watched this lad in the reserves, and first team squad, since he was 16 and he has pace but is very erratic in his football. he runs and chases but with very little purpose, and yes he can finish but needs a clear opening to do it it.he's not stong enough to lead a line at all. i wanted him to do it but to me he isnt a very good striker , no matter how long a run he gets in the team he won't make it, when he has had his wee chances he's in effect done nothing that shows me he can be a top flight striker, already Gayle looks twice the player he is. sorry but Arma is not the answer and is out of his depth Gayle is 6 years older and played in Championship / premier league for a lot more games. Armstrong had 1 season on loan playing proper football and scored 20 goals. I don't buy this size thing, the centre halves at that level will be physical and he managed just fine. Strikers don't have to be 6ft if the team accommodates it. Gayle isn't that tall. Defoe had the ba lumped at him and manages to score because he has that instinct and gets on the end of things. Armstrong might never lead the line on his own but I dont think we should be too tough on a 19 year old with 1 full season behind him and trying to make it at his home club with all the pressure that brings.

Can't believe people's opinion of a 19 year old that has had the odd appearance for us. He clearly has something about him. Would rather we keep him and give him sub appearances during the season
