It will be pretty funny after 2 or 3 games when they realise they should have spent 60 million on 1 good player rather than 2 that combined are still average. Either way good bit of cash for us to rebuild on the type of players and balance we need. Save some for Jan/ next season if promoted and have a good team in premier league.
-
For anyone that was there what did our shape look like tactically, do we look more defensively sound or the same disorganised mess off the ball ? We seem a lot better going forward
-
You will be periscoping it yeah ?
-
I think we will sign 2 or 3 more and lose 2 more players probably Tiote and Sissoko
-
You wait for a defender and 4 come along at once. Like Allardyce this Rafa bloke
-
Class or absolutely awful and cringeworthy, who knows?! It would be cringeworthy and make us as bad as the Mackems
-
I never knew that many passes existed
-
Would be good to recognise him as a centre back that can fill in at Left Back and then go get a decent left back, although he seems to see Anita, Gamez or Sterry playing there
-
We seem to be shaping a very decent squad and getting a style together, hell even reserves are winning games. Just fucking hope we carry it into the season and the big Newcastle curse doesn't kick in with horrible injuries or anything

He's a good manager but will take him time and doubt he will get them above mid table. Not sure that's based on much. 3 jobs, f***ed two them up I think it will suit him being there. Man U job was too big for him and never know when managing a foreign team. Will take a lot of work to make them mid-table though as will need to clear out a lot of shite even if them lot think they are class. He brought through a few youngsters at Everton as well including Coleman, Barkley, Rooney, Rodwell and made them very hard to beat, he didn't often start their season until January though which will suit these lot and he did spend a fair bit no matter what is said.
-
Don't think we have had a player like Gayle for sometime that tries to run beyond allowing those balls. Positive we seem to be playing better football this preseason

In Rafa we trust, if he thinks it's right that's fine with me. He does seem to love Big Vurn and Captain Pass back though. Interested to see how well Sterry does and good to see Aarons not broke down yet
-
I'd like to see a fucking periscope :-) all those roaming charges. Would like to see Gayle and Ritchie start with Hayden and Shelvey in midfield
-
Look to be building a foundation, long time coming really. There will be players that don't work out but happy with players we have got so far. Hope we get few more and also few youngish players in

Works for me

Could be put on a list for that never mind booked

A 6 ft 3 physical defender with experience at that level and captain of a team at that level is a good signing. Probably better bet than Caulker where the jury really is out and not convinced he's great at the back, probably better on that ball but happy to have Central Defenders that win the ball and play it simple to more capable midfielders / full backs. Where we are at is building a resilient defence which we have never had. With a Central Defender the main considerations should be anticipation, concentration, positioning and strength but not can he pick a ball up and dribble past 10 players, or can he play a pinpoint pass down the channels for a winger. First and foremost he should be able to defend and be part of an effective unit. FMtastic Yip almost like Sky Sports I know but didn't mean for it to be honest . It's hard not to compare I'd you rattle off a few attributes which normally would be perfectly acceptable in any other circumstance. FM has ruined how you can talk about a footballer... Ironically Sky Sports in the last year think it's hip to do so. At least I'm not rating each out of 20 which makes no sense in real life

One of those players has to at least have the passing range and vision to initiate attacks though, otherwise you'll see what happens with England is a load of forwards on the pitch but we can't create because nobody is keeping the ball or helping set up that front 4. True and I think we do need that, someone that can switch play and join in attacks is required, however assuming Tiote goes we don't have anyone experienced or good enough to protect the back 4 and sometimes you could understand trying to have a functional defence minded midfield
-
Or he wants defensive midfielders to allow the front 4 to roam. Could do with a player that can score some goals from there other than Shelvey so we have a few options. I think Tiote will go so we need experience in there and would make sense from that point of view.
-
He would be good alongside Shelvey or with Hayden allowing Aarons, Gayle,Perez and Ritchie to just attack. We would be solid defensively.

29 not that old at all

There's more truth in the Zlatan story than Klopp having dreams over Gini Because of where his arm is it looks like Klopp is admitting to being an alcoholic.
