  1. But I wouldn't want to see that next season. Opinions seem split on who should be the one to be dropped should another centre mid come in. By split I mean me favouring Nolan against everyone else favouring Guthrie
  2. I'm not shooting you down, but it would be rank management to drop Guthrie because Nolan is unfit. If Nolan can't hack it in the Premiership, leave him out until he can. I don't quite get what you mean, sorry? I'm sure Nolan must actually be match fit, surely he does the same training as everyone else? We won't know whether he can hack it until the season starts, and with form, ability, fitness and injury you adjust the team accordingly, as Hughton has done this season, however I would be happier seeing Nolan start next season than Guthrie, as things stand of course.
  3. I don't think Nolan will do as bad as people are anticipating next season. However, if he is going to be in a midfield four, he will need mobility around him, which he would have with Jonas and Routledge, but he'll need an athletic centre mid in with him. Nolan and Guthrie would be too slow in the Premiership. I'll probably get shot down for saying so, but I'd sooner see Nolan in our team next season than Guthrie. I really want him to do well next year, he has been infuriating at times but you can see how passionate and driven he is and I've grown to like him. It is ultimately a shame he isn't athletic as all of his technical attributes are of a decent Premiership quality.
  4. Hit the champagne a bit early there fella Looks like it doesn't it.... What happens when I rush my post, and forget we have Plymouth before that game
  5. Don't lost against Ipswich and it's both
  6. They certainly won't when we're in the premier league. Best f*** that Coloccini off then. There's a tad more evidence for Coloccini than a season in the championship. So, so, so, very predictable! here we go again, i'm not getting involved again lol Yeah let's not. I actually rate Colo, but you really can guess people's replies on here at times. I just find it amusing.

  8. I saw people commenting that Harper made a mistake against Blackpool for the goal, then I watch the highlights and he's pulled off a great save before Ormerod followed up. Think I'll judge for myself.
  9. On and off the pitch. Whether you like him or not, he's been vital for us. Lot of time for the guy.
  10. This. But, as others have pointed out, a win at home virtually assures the trophy. The question is misleading. Anyway, assuming that the club were to go undefeated at home and lose out on the title, it would create a great trivia question and grist for football columnists -- typical Newcastle etc. Well we could draw at home, which would give us the undefeated season, and still the potential to finish runners up...
  11. Good point, you just know we'll lose our first home game of next season
  12. I always find it strange the number of people that whine about whether they think a thread is necessary or not. I can understand a moderator/admin regulating the place but regular posters, I mean come on, does it really bother you that much that a thread that you're not massively interested in has been created? If it's pointless, it will sink and disappear. The point of this thread is that I wanted to know everyone's thoughts, and now I do. Cheers.
  13. Cheers, added poll. Judging by the responses it looks like it's going to be a very one sided poll.
  14. I'm pretty confident we'll do both, but until it happens each scenario is plausible. I just thought it would be interesting to see what peoples priorities are. Going undefeated at home all season is some achievement.
  15. I'm not sure how to add a poll, but I just wondered what everyone's preference would be if they had to take either: Finishing as Champions but losing against Ipswich, hence losing the chance to match a 100 or so year long record of going undefeated at home all season, or; Finishing second but going the season undefeated at home. Hopefully we'll achieve both, but I don't know what I'd pick to be honest, I'd be gutted if we lost to Ipswich, but at the same time I'd hate to see the smug look on Roberto Di Matteo's face if they finished ahead of us. If I had to choose I think I would go with being champions, but it would be very bitter-sweet considering we're so close to both.
  16. Only saw the highlights last night. Some decent finishing in those goals. Jonas' looked like it was going well wide, surely it should be an OG? Routledge's goal was very good. Nolan's was like he was playing a pre-season game against a pub team

Selfish cunt he is. Always thinking about number one. Not far shy of the truth tbf. But, hey ho...
  18. Sorry i don't actually know who you are? Yes but that's a moot point at the best of times. How much is the Tube over to Wembley? Sorry i'm afraid i don't engage in conversations with newbie's trying to make a name for themselves on an internet forum. Good luck in life unknown newbie. Make a name? Now everybody will know the name of Haris Vuckic! That Haris Vuckic proper merced KD, I will never forget him for that!

Are you joking? His biggest weakness by far is his lack of ability on the ball. Yes Ronaldo, I'm joking. I made that post to fool everyone who bothered to read my input! You're all stupid for believing me. He wasn't exactly an old fashioned centre back that liked to punt the ball up the line for us was he. The majority of the time he liked to play the ball out.
  20. That was a penalty IMO. Palacios' knee took hit the attacker before he got the touch on the ball. A harsh penalty I guess, but not surprised it was given.
