Howard Webb should never be forgiven or forgotten. The only time I went to SJP last season was our last Premier league game there. Even that seems like a good few years ago...

It's amazing how much has happened to this club in a couple of years. Whenever I look on the 'Day in History" section of .com and see some of the things that happened only 1 or 2 years ago, I can't believe it was so recently. Things like Keegan being manager, Kinnear being manager etc seem like they happened such a long time ago.

With the pile on celebration, I like how Williamson decides he can be arsed to jump on so he just slaps Ameobi on the arse

I thought he looked canny last night, he can spot a clever pass which is handy in our team where we have had a succession of plodders over the years. I don't think he's good enough for the premier though. He wants too much time on the ball and lacks pace. If we are going to use that type of player next season I'd prefer it to be Barton if I'm honest. Maybe they could play together but I'd prefer at least one player in the middle who can motor a bit. Don't get me wrong his passing can be very intelligent, and he did play a couple of really nice cross field balls, but sometimes he seems be a bit sloppy with the simple ones. Last night may have been due to the conditions as you've said but I've thought this more than just this game. I also agree with you in that he wants too much time. I know this is completely contradicting my argument with regards to wanting too much time on the ball but I'd sooner replace him than Nolan, although that's not me saying I want Nolan in our first 11 next year week in week out.

Speaking of Guthrie, I'm personally still not convinced with him to be honest. I always feel nervous when he receives the ball in a tight spot as I think his touch is going to let him down. Say what you want about Nolan but his first touch is very good, I'm always pretty confident he can get the ball and pass it quickly with people closing him down, I just feel nervous when Guthrie is in the same situation. Also, for a player I always thought had decent technique and passing ability, his passes are quite wayward at times.

I thought his set pieces apart from the one that forced a decent save from Camp were shocking. He took two direct free kicks in the second half that forced Camp to save, Raylor usually gets those way above of the bar. It looked to me like one was a decent save, the order was just a standard save. He also belted one miles over didn't he? I'd imagine Ryan Taylor's and his free kick stats are quite similar if anything.

I noticed that, wtf was he doing!

Gotta love the Shola Boating for the second goal!

Pearce? Good shout, but he was at the back end of his career. Pearce was a propper no nonsence left back, Jose is class!

Best leftback I've ever seen wear a Newcastle shirt. FACT! Love the guy, this place must have had a meltdown Now let's just pop over to that Forest forum.....

Dunno why people think Carroll's been poor, he's done his job. Probably should have pulled the trigger with that chance.

and we think it's small time when away fans come on here to bait us. Phil K really can't help himself -

Has half of this forum signed up to that Forest forum? -
Sad thing to say about anyone, but I'd be surprised if he reaches 50.

Hasn't Cristiano Ronaldo been doing really well for Madrid? Surprised no one has put him in their top 3?!
-
It's not nice to see but it is affective and although it's not his decision to make, he does (more often than not) tend to go down when he thinks he should get a free kick. He doesn't really go down from no contact whatsoever. He's just very theatrical when there is contact.
-
Has good technique, but really needs to learn to drill a ball. There was at least 2 or 3 occasions when he should have smashed the ball across the face of the goal on Saturday but decided to float it to the back post (and usually with too much weight on it).
-
He played well second half on Saturday but he really frustrated me for most of the game. I don't know if he was instructed to wander because of their formation, but he was anywhere but left wing practically all of the first half and for chunks of the second, even before Routledge had gone over to the other side. It was really frustrating as Enrique had nowhere to pass the ball unless Jonas passed him the ball from the centre and then ran out wide in front of him, which seemed pointless. He was just giving himself an extra 20 yards to run before being in his usual position. He did well for his goal and tried to take the game by the scruff at the end though.

I'm sure I read somewhere that you won't necessarily need to wear the glasses eventually (I don't mean years and years down the line eventually either).
-
I don't think it will fade away to be honest, the capability for it to be done effectively appears to be there now so it will probably become more common over time.

Fuck that, I had my doubts over whether the players had it in them to sustain a run good enough to come back up but I always had faith we'd be there or there abouts. No way would I settle for mid table mediocrity though. My mentality this season has been that our team is good enough to go back up, and if we do then it was almost just a blip for us given all the shite off the field last season. I actually think I'd be more distraught this year if we don't go up than when we came down because the realisation would sink in that we're gonna be here for a while.

Jonas for me, but there are a few close runners in Enrique, Colo, and also Taylor (christ.... 3 defenders) Taylor has his faults but his passion is great to see. Seeing him score the most meaningless goal in a friendly and then proceed to celebrate like he's scored the winning goal in the 91st minute of the FA Cup final is amazing I also think in time, Routledge's style of play could see him be a favourite of mine.

Hard to see whether he actually did anything wrong tbh.
