Manquillo definitely looks a lot more competent nowadays. I've had him down as one of our worst players pretty much all of his time with us, but that's certainly changed now. I can't recall being specifically frustrated with him this season.
Is playing like that actually any better than having a go and losing by 5? I genuinely don't think I could have enjoyed that game much less, regardless of the score line.
Imagine being in the latter stages of a big cup, and you get told by your manager to go out there and actively not even try to win.
Utterly piss poor. Thoroughly deserved loss.
I'm guessing it's more because his positioning has improved over the years, but Lascelles looks a fair bit faster now that he did in his early seasons for us.
