Didn't read past the first page of comments but, the general opinion is that this behaviour is bad but, becoming wider spread from a small section of their younger fan base. Other highlights were: Someone moaning that Sunderland fans singing about Crewe support being rubbish while they only mustered about 7 - 8k home fans is embarrassing This violence being more of a society wide issue and shouldn't be attributed to football fans I am sure that if I was arsed to read further there would be more gems of wisdom that reach into the WTF section of my brain.

Fair enough, of course people work and making a 10am queue can be a big problem. I guess if you cannot make it and cannot get someone to do it for you then a ballot is the next best solution. Can not please all of the people all of the time comes to mind!
-
As a season ticket holder this situation doesn't effect me but, I have been reading the topic out of interest and my main observation is that the previous system allowing members to ring on a specific day and buy tickets seemed to work perfectly well and satisfied everyone involved. This new system of ballot seems stupid and pointless. It is stressing people out and members who have found their way to attend most of the games they wanted to, often in the same seat week in week out, are now being completely randomised and seem as likely to miss out as to win. Complicating things for complicating sake in my opinion.

You would have thought that - knowing the fact that this event was due to take place - that the sewage companies would have at least stopped pumping shit into the sea a week or so before the event. The state of the seas around the British Isles is beyond a joke, not just Sunderland or the North East... it is everywhere. Raw shit, sanitary products and other rotten stuff flowing into the sea daily. Meanwhile the Government allowed the water companies to be sold off to overseas ownership.... like they care about the seas around Britain.... all about the revenue! Shameful.

Literally every one of their players and former players has a little pet name they created especially for them. They even attended a couple of relatively meaningless matches at a place they call Wembo.....
-
Mackems way too classy to attend any Newcastle game, Fewman rights abewse, support for LGBTQ and all that! Plus that would be proper "MAG" behaviour

We absolutely have to accept that we will sell players. The problem seems to be is that we are all emotionally attached to our better players and cannot seem to face the thought that they could or will move on at some point. I always think that as long as they do not leave to go to another Premier League team, like Aston fuckin Villa then it is easier to take. I will miss Maxi but, have to accept that in order to grow as a club we have to change.

Had an email from club to see if I wanted to apply to move seats to the new safe standing area.... Leaving it all really last minute for the upcoming season...

Our summer holiday this year will be in Corfu, my lad and my daughter have both bought home tops this year. The first time for as long as I can remember (for all the obvious reasons). We hope that we can see a load of mackems in their tops, particularly very young children, so we can point blank ignore them. We will meet with a family of Brentford fans and a family of Wolves fans. The kids are already planning to wear their tops on the same night.... Imagine if that crowd of teams ignores a mackem?? what a story to tell the RTG forum....???

I was in there one evening as it was closing and the manager told me that they advertise themselves as an away fans venue, the police support it as they are all pretty much in one place and easier to manage, the away fans love it because they can have a peaceful drink (not there is barely any trouble with away fans in Newcastle these days anyway) and the pub loves it because they take Thousands in a short space of time. Everyone wins!

Many teams are trying to sign players from teams who were relegated out of the Premier League, Maddison is just one example.... by the logic of the mackem every player in a team that finishes in a lower position than your team must be rubbish and not worthy of consideration.

Sorry if this has been asked before but, which league is the next one for the womans team and how far away are they in the league pyramid from the Womens Super League thing that is on teevee quite reguarly?
-
I am almost certain he was stripped and ready to come on the pitch at the very end of our match vs. Southampton - only the final whistle saved us from that haha!

Did you read the actual article anyone? Biggest load of bullshit ever.... we should be investigated because Man City are owned by a Sheik and Man Utd have attracted interest from the Middle East as well. We are in danger of being caught allowing people with money to invest their money into something they want to invest their money into.... Then the people with no money will be sad and never win the league... what a twisty faced twat!

Feel a bit sorry for Southampton and the fans, they are not such a hateful club like, some of the nothing teams in the Premier League. They play some nice football and even though we have beaten them like, 3 times this season already they never looked like a team that was just there making up the numbers. Decent! I bet their fans don't clear out at half time no matter what the score is! That said I will be gutted if we do not take 3 points and take them comfortably on Sunday!

When you consider that this tackle caused Longstaff some considerable discomfort and Little Arms shoved him while he was on the ground I think Everton got away really lightly with no penalty or bookings. For me it was a penalty all day long and there should have been some cards flashed!!

We have +32 goal difference!! I can barely remember a season recently where we even scored 32 goals. Holy shit..

Even just a single season on the Premier League would bring in money the likes of which the Don (do they still call him that?) could only ever dream of. Talking about 100mil to finish last plus some delightful marrashute payments to help the transition back into the Championship... It is basically - or would be - all he ever dreamed of when he bought Sun'lun. Maybe even enough money to print something on the front of their seeyson cards. Even the young kid that has some money in a trust fund would be in a whole different world with Premier League money to play with... I would rather they stayed skint frankly... hate everything about the club!

I want us to win this game really badly. They are simply the Merseyside mackems in every way. Let's help to flush them out of this league!
-
Tell me ma, me ma... We're going to Italy, tell me ma, me ma! That was brilliant!! Even the East Stand was bouncing during that nuts first 25 minutes.... tons of people standing and singing!

Anthony twice gave him a hell of a hard time and then just last week Bowen got by several times. Maybe that is your exact point (fully agree with you) I agree with you, as well, that Burn does very well in a face to face challenge and also has a habit of taking the ball from an onrushing winger (with his long cumbersome legs :-) ) but, when they turn him or pass him at pace he is done. Don't get me wrong though, I think Burn is great and I am not criticizing him, although I guess I kind of am. I thought that Targett handled Bowen excellently when he came on vs West Ham the other week, it is just a slightly different approach and one that could be a surprise to teams we play against, when they expect to see Burn in left back but, we make a change!

The self belief from fans of Aston Villa that their club is somehow special or one that no player could possibly turn down the chance to play for is staggering. Every fan of every club holds their own club in high regard, no doubt but, Villa fans are a step beyond that.... I have no idea why they seem to hate us so much either, personally I see them as a complete nothing club, going nowhere with mid to upper mid table their glass ceiling but, extremely low risk of relegation. They mean nothing to any other football fan... some fans (even on here) have soft spots for other clubs and look out for the results and so on. I would be hugely surprised if anyone puts Villa into that category. For the comments I read from their lot recently and further back I would take a huge amount of satisfaction to hammer these by 4 or 5 goals. While that is unlikely I would still enjoy a win of any kind and feel that with our current form we have a good chance.... We have seen that Eddie has his "Blue Print" for how he wants to play but, also have evidence now that he can (and will) change that when he feels it is appropriate or necessary. He must have seen Dan Burn getting ran ragged recently, other teams will see what we see and focus their attacks down their right hand side to exploit the lack of pace and mobility from big Dan. At some point I can see Targett being brought in to replace him, it will be a pity because Burn is likeable and has done a great job but, seems to have been found out by all our opponents which makes it time to make a change.

I know it is a well used statement "Men against boys" but, I have played in a mans team against a team of boys and it was bloody hard work. We got stuffed!
-
Was just talking to my son about this very thing.... Yes it 100% was. Such a random fact, I had even forgotten about him being a Newcastle player until now and then to hear / read his name twice inside an hour is bizarre.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that one of the allegations against Man City recently was that the price they reported paying for Haarland was massively below what they actually paid for him.... Potentially up to 3x lower than the actual cost. Would be no surprise to hear that Alvarez was similarly fudged in their financial reportings. However, mustn't let [alleged] financial irregularities get in the way of grasping at any form of negative hope against us.
