  1. Wijnaldum's quality of movement is something we haven't seen for a while.
  2. That's a tad rich is it not?
  3. Berbatov and Adebayor up front? Wow They should go for Archibald and Crooks.
  4. Managed to see a bit of Villa v Wolves. Thoroughly agree with you about the new signings, Amavi looked very good.
  5. Pity he isn't Russian. Or indeed a centre half to replace Williamson.

    Adam Armstrong

They're actually improving under Mowbray, I reckon they could be playoff/promotion bound this season. Not sure Armstrong is the kind of striker they need though. I don't see him as an all out centre forward, and they already have a couple who play off the front man. I may even make the half mile trek to the Ricoh to watch occasionally. Mowbray is from the Bruce Rioch school of keeping it on the floor, pass and move isn't he? Decent enough level to toughen him up at and give him 1st team experience because at present he's a long way off being ready to play in the premier league for us. Yes,I agree 100%

They have just signed some kid who was at Tottenham too. Both he and Maddison are very highly rated and play in the role Armstrong looks most suited to.

  9. I'm going to put a quid on Jordan Ayew to be PFA Player of the Year.
  10. Keogh was cack at Coventry a couple of years ago ffs.
  11. I don't want nobody else I love him He's staying I don't want nobody else yes it's true He's staying Say you'll always be our player, sweet Angel Why does he pretend? Ain't no doubt, it's plain to see. Angel di Maria's going to PSG. He can't leave Man U cos that's the law But he wants to play where they end Le Tour, end le Tour, end le Tour.
  12. Should not even be in question surely? He'd be my first name on the teamsheet like Yeah but don't you pick yours on alphabetical order?
  13. Paul Parker initially made his name as a sweeper at QPR but was better known as a right back at Man United and for England. He was never really a traditional centre back. He autographed my programme outside Loftus Road the day Gazza got sent off for us around 1987ish and 5' 7" is pushing it a bit, he was tiny! I seem to remember that Fenwick was the sweeper, and Parker was one of the markers. Either way, he could beat opponents in the air who were far taller. The other one I can remember was Steve Perryman, who played at CB for Spurs in the early 80s. He was a similar height, but could still challenge well in the air, and he had the advantage of nimble movement on the ground, which he shared with Parker. Steve Perryman was a full back and in his younger days, a midfielder, never a centre half. He wore the 6 shirt which is possibly confusing you. I am 100000000% sure I am right about this. Perryman started off in central midfield, but in the last few years of his career played at centre back for Spurs. And very well too. No he didn't. Roberts, Lacy, Miller and Paul Price were Spurs' centre halves during that period Of course he may have played there on rare occasion, just as Paul Ince played right back for Manchester United on rare occasion.

  15. Steve Pott was another long standing, excuse the pun, 5 foot 7 centre half.
  16. Not Premiership central defence though he did play centre half for both QPR and Fulham. Chris Perry though was a successful centre half in the Premier league.
