God, to read fans' cancellation emails put like that is a testament to what this regime is doing. They really are a cancer on what was a proud football club supported by people who would fight the club's corner whatever the situation. This horrendous man had the chance to own a club with the most loyal of supporters at his back. Fully deserved today but still think they will be right in the mash at the end of season and next weeks game is vital if you look at the games after that Nah I think they'll be safe. It's still an utterly ridiculous sentence. I think he realised that the minute he said it, and then tried to correct the impression. Often Pardew is his own worst enemy when a microphone is stuck in front of him. I think what he wanted to put across is that supporters shouldn't actually complain about us being 8th, given the teams above us. He should either come out and say that, or say nothing.
